The Mad Max prequel titled Furiosa began filming a couple of months back, with Chris Hemsworth in an undisclosed role. But now, new set photos have given us insight into how Hemsworth’s character looks in the upcoming 2024 film.
The spinoff acts as a prequel to the Mad Max franchise, focusing on a young Furiosa when she was kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and forced to join a bikers Horde led by warlord Dementus, who is at war with Immortan Joe. Furiosa must survive by any means and find her way back home.
The prequel stars Anna Taylor-Joy as Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron in 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Other cast members alongside Taylor-Joy include Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, and Quaden Bayles.
Chris Hemsworth’s role has not been officially disclosed to the public, but previously released photos from the 2024 film’s set have started rumors that Hemsworth will be playing a version of Immortan Joe. Will the new photos from the Furiosa set shed some light on which of the villains he will be playing in the upcoming Mad Max prequel?
@PastranaTweet shared the new images from the prequel’s set, which showed Hemsworth in a shocking makeover. The Thor actor is barely recognizable in a wild beard tinged with white and a different nose.
These photos must be set at a different point in the story from the previous setting since the images show a much older-looking character played by Hemsworth. The only other insight that can be gleaned from these new stills is that the prequel will remain faithful to the design of Fury Road as Hemsworth can be seen riding a vehicle much like those featured in the 2015 film.
It’s not easy to assume which character the Thor actor will be playing in the 2024 film, but hopefully, more information will be available as the movie’s filming moves along. Fans can soon expect an update on the role Chris Hemsworth will be playing in the upcoming prequel.
