The wait is now finally over; Wonder Egg Priority is set to conclude its story as Ai returns from the Egg World after completing her mission, only to realize that the world isn’t the same as before.
Wonder Egg Priority was probably the most original story to come out of the Winter 2021 season. Hiding behind the cutesy anime girl aesthetic, the story discovers the vivid manifestation of a young girl’s psyche.
The ending of the first season had not been very conclusive due to some issues. But it all ends this time.
The final special hour-long episode of Wonder Egg Priority is set to stream exclusively on Funimation from 30th June 2021.
The last episode of the series had Ai fight off against Haters without any help from Leon. Instead, she discovers a parallel version of herself from another universe who had apparently committed suicide instead of Koito.
After some self-reflection, she finally takes a look at the pool, which reveals the identity of the mystery killer, Sawaki Shuichiro.
The plot for the special episode reveals that Sawaki will reveal the truth about Koito’s suicide. Although any direct involvement from Sawaki is unexpected, it seems like he knows a lot more than we all initially thought.
Many fans were dissatisfied by the lack of closure on Koito’s suicide plotline, which was left unresolved in the first season. It was weird how the seemingly main motivation of the story had been forgotten by the end of it.
