Funimation Anime Lineup for Fall 2020 Announced!

FunimationCon 2020, the virtual convention for Japanese anime lovers was held on 3-4 July.

It was a two-day online event with cosplays, question-answer sessions with Japanese anime creators, and much more. New anime premieres and adaptations were also announced during the FunimationCon.

Funimation has just announced the anime lineup for 2020, which will be released this fall! Some of these anime were initially set for a summer release but got delayed and are currently on the fall list.

So let’s check out what new anime are in store for us this fall!

Higurashi When They Cry

“Higurashi: When They Cry” or “When They Cry” is a murder mystery anime adapted from the visual novel of the same name, presented by studio Passione.

Keiichi Maebara has just moved into the Hinamizawa village and has made friends pretty quickly with the girls of his school.

However, something about the isolated community doesn’t quite seem right. What warning does his gut feeling carry, and what are the secrets behind this small locality?

Maesetsu

The plot revolves around the lives of four girls who are filled with youthful energy. Their goal is to work for the Japanese entertainment industry.

It is the story of the girls who go through the struggle to make others laugh. Studio AXsiZ and Studio Gokumi are producing the anime.

Adapted from a light novel series by Roy and Ririnra, By The Grace Of God is an anime series produced by Maho film.

Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World anime is adapted from the light novel series by Kei Sazane and Ao Nekonabe. It is animated by Silver Link.

The Mechanical Utopia and The Paradise for Witches have been fighting wars for two centuries.

However, the successor of Black Steel and the Ice-Calamity Witch meet by chance, which causes a collision of ideas and views. How will they change this battle-hungry world?

Ikebukuro West Gate Park

Ikebukuro West Gate Park anime is adapted from the novel series by Ira Ishida and is directed under Studio Doga Kobo.

The anime focuses on 20 years old Makoto Majima, who lives near Ikebukuro West Gate Park. He gets involved in dangerous situations quite often to save his friends and people who ask for his help.

He is called the “troubleshooter of Ikebukuro.” This peacekeeper has to get involved in a troublesome case that has shaken the calm of the city.

Dropout Idol Fruit Tart

The Dropout Idol Fruit Tart anime is adapted from the manga of the same name by Sou Hamayumiba. It is produced by Studio Feel.

Sakura Ino has always dreamed of becoming an idol. She moves into the Fourth dormitory of the Rat Production, a place where all the former idols live.

She soon joins former child actor Sekino Roko, musician Nukui Hayu, and model Maehara Nina to form a new idol group called “Fruit Tart” to save their soon to be demolished dormitory and repay their hundred million yen debt.
