The trailer begins with an iconic moment between Frieren and Himmel the Hero. It transitions to the party arriving at the Auberst, where the Elven Mage must pass the First Class Mage Exam to obtain the Mage certificate necessary to enter the Northern Highlands.

It also features new characters who will appear in part 2. The attractive characters and their scintillating battle sequences set the mood for the upcoming season.

The renowned J-Rock duo Yorushika performs the opening song, “Hareru,” which was previewed in the latest trailer.

Madhouse will continue with the production, and we will see the same staff reprising their roles.

Part 2 will mostly adapt volumes 4-7 (chapters 37- 60) from the ongoing manga, featuring various stages of the ‘First Class Mage Exam’ arc.

Yamada and Abe launched the manga in April 2020, which has won several awards: the New Creator Prize for the 25th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2021 and the 14th Manga Taisho Award in 2021.

In addition, the manga was nominated for Best Shōnen Manga for Kodansha’s 45th annual Manga Awards in 2021 and the 46th awards in May 2022.

In part 1 of the story, we learn about Frieren’s past and her adventures with Fern, Stark, and Sein. However, fans were left wondering about another demon and the potential for more fights in the next part. Stay tuned to find out as we get closer to the release date.

About Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga by Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. It was launched in April 2020, and went on to win several prizes.

The story starts when a group of heroes come back home after defeating a demon. Frieren, an elf mage, has hundreds of years ahead of her due to her long lifespan.

She is destined to lose all her friends and comrades eventually. However, at the funeral of one of her past comrades, she realizes that she has a new adventure ahead of her.
