Food Wars!, animated by JC Staff, has been a phenomenal hit since it first aired in 2015. Currently, the anime is in its fourth season with the last episode of the season scheduled to be released on 27th December 2019. However, recently it was announced that season five is already under production.

Food Wars recently announced that a fifth season of the show, titled Food Wars!: The Fifth Plate is in production and is expected to premiere in April 2020.

The information was also updated on the anime’s official website along with the first key visual for the next season.

The manga that the anime is based on, has already ended, so it is highly likely that the upcoming season will be the last season for the show. More details regarding the next season have not yet been announced but it has been confirmed that the anime will be directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani, the director for the previous seasons.
