To speculate what might happen next, we must keep in mind that even though Neema’s outer appearance is of a kid, she isn’t originally a kid and has pretty good leadership skills. On top of that, she also saved the kobold pup, so the pack isn’t exactly hostile against them anymore. As Neema and the whole group set out to return the kobold pup to his pack, Healran sensed something was off about the city. He wanted to investigate it, so he stayed behind while Neema and the others entered the forest. It wasn’t as easy as Neema had hoped for it to be. After a short while, they noticed that they were going in circles in the forest.
The guards noticed a movement in the bushes, and all they found was a slime. It tried to say something, and luckily, Shinki understood what it was saying. I had a friend nearby who was unable to move, so it wanted help. Neema rushed there with everyone and found a parent slime on the verge of giving birth.
The only way to help it was having it inhabit someone, which would stop it from giving birth. However, that had the risk of being attacked by the slime from the inside. The slime said it wouldn’t attack people it liked, and of course, Neema was the only one it liked, so she named it Shizuku and let it inhabit her.
This came with certain advantages, like being immune to most physical attacks and some magical attacks, too. One thing that wasn’t solved was the fact that they were still going in a circle. Suddenly, Neema remembered something that might answer this problem. She asked everyone to follow her, and once they reached the forest’s heart, they met the land’s guardian there.
Neema talked with the guardian tree, and even though it liked her, it refused to disclose the information regarding the Kobold’s dwelling. Well, Neema being Neema, she was able to convince it to give away the location. Once they entered the real forest, they faced yet another obstacle. A bug-type monster called Mamushi attacked them. It was more of a blessing than a problem.
Shinki said that these bugs were edible and tasted really good when roasted. He quickly prepared them in the traditional method, and after tasting them, Neema was amazed. She asked Lars and the knights to hunt as many mamushi as possible. Once they reached the kobold village and returned the pup, Neema offered the mamushi as a gift to win their trust.
