On February 7, Marvel’s Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur executive producer Laurence Fishburne previewed character designs of the main characters via Entertainment.
Moon Girl, aka Lunella Lafayette without her costume, the cute pink and red Devil Dinosaur with Moon Girl in her neon outfit, Casey, James Jr., Adria, Mimi, Pops, and The Beyonder.
The first look of the character designs gives a full view of the titular new young heroes and villains.
Lunella Lafayette, voiced by American singer and actress Diamond White, is described as one of the most intelligent people in Marvel Universe.
The 13-year-old unique heroine uses gravity-defying gadgets and rolls around the city with roller-skates to save people as Moon Girl.
Moon Girl’s partner, Devil Dinosaur, voiced by Fred Tatasciore, is described as playful and fiercely loyal. He’s a big eater and comes in where the heroine lacks – muscles and cunningness.
The previews also introduce Lunella’s family and friends – mother Adria, father James Jr., grandmother Mimi, grandfather Pops, and her manager and best friend, Casey.
Pops is the owner of the family business Roll With It and an incredible, meticulous craftsman who creates custom roller skates. Adria and James Jr. work at the family-owned skating rink, the last standing in New York City.
The stylish of them is Casey, whose mission is to make her best friend and her partner the best-known superheroes.
Most interestingly, the villain, The Beyonder, voiced by Laurence Fishburne, first look image looks sharp and scary – perfectly fitting the evil concept. The Beyonder is described as an “all-knowing and all-powerful” trickster, but “is clueless about humans.”
The animated series Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur was first announced in 2018 and was set to release in 2020.
The series will now be released on The Disney Channel and Disney+ in the summer of this year, finally giving loyal fans a look at one of the most powerful characters in Marvel.
