Hiraku introduces the elves to the savor of curry in episode 5 of Farming Life in Another World titled “Curry and Surviving the Winter.”

As he begins experimenting with more dishes, he gathers all the ingredients and makes some curry and naan. Everyone immediately loves it and goes for second and third helpings, but the dogs are terrified.

Recap of Episode 5

The house is finally complete, and the size is much bigger than they imagined. The size is undoubtedly enough to accommodate everyone on the farm and any future residents, filled with a cellar, bedrooms, kitchen, and vast living room.

Hiraku is experimenting with his cooking and decides to try and make curry for the first time. He explains the process and gathers all the ingredients needed. They collect spices from the plants that have already grown.

Cumin, coriander, and cilantro are just the starting steps for the curry. He gathers them and organizes them on a single table to begin cooking without overcomplicating it. Lu and Hiraku make it together and enjoy the smell the whole time.

They need to wait a bit for the curry to finish simmering, and Hiraku realizes he forgot to get the naan. He immediately gets on it and makes his naan go with the curry. He serves it to all the elves, and they immediately get addicted.

The dogs, however, are immensely repelled by the smell and run away from it. Hiraku brings Zabuton some potatoes in exchange for a bunch of winter blankets, and he makes his rounds around the farm.

Lu and Tia are making a bunch of meat and searing it for the dogs since winter is soon coming; they also make a lot of food preparations and cover it in anticipation of snow. Hiraku questions Lu about magic and wonders why he can’t do it.

She says he’s already proved his feats just by living in the forest for this long and survive. He builds a chess set and mahjong set to cure their boredom of staying inside during winter.

Lu and Tia battle it with board games, which is an incredibly one-sided loss for Lu. The dogs also prove their intelligence by playing their own game beside them. Lu faces off against Kuro but loses yet again.

Even when Hiraku tries to help them out, Kuro still manages to win against them. Next, he makes a bowling set out of wood and explains the rules to everyone there. Being the most accessible game there, everyone was immediately hooked.

As winter passes, the mornings seem friendly and warm in contrast. They see a huge monster approaching the farm and recognize it as a wyvern; disaster seems imminent.
