Hiraku starts his farm from scratch alone in episode 1, Life in Another World, titled “The Almighty Farming Tool.”

After a brief conversation with god proceeding with his miserable death and the cruel life he lived, Hiraku gets reincarnated into a new life with the ability to summon simple tools to help him develop and create his farm.

Spawning in a forest, he works his way up to a proper base of operations by clearing his land and plowing the fields. He secures a water source and even adopts some pets on the way, along with some unsightly encounters with giant rabbits.

Episode 2 Speculation

Now that his base of operations has been primarily completed, Hikaru will likely develop the house even more and expand his farm to cover more crops than just tomatoes. He specified he wanted a huge variety, which will probably be explored next episode.

Moreover, we may also be introduced to some of the maids teased during the first two minutes of the episode. It is pretty intriguing to see how they’ll bring them in as he is currently stranded in the middle of nowhere, and it’s unlikely that a couple of maids will walk into the farm just like that.

Recap of Episode 1

The episode begins with our protagonist Hiraku waking up on the farm, greeting his maids, and stretching his back. He zones out a bit as he recalls his dream or an old memory, as he calls it, his death.

We see Machio Hiraku’s conversation with god after his death in the real world, where he underwent much suffering and even had to endure a terminal illness. Hiraku asks to live a peaceful farming life away from all the world’s struggles.

He spawns in a forest and tries to find out where to go; dressed in villager clothes and now in a healthy body, he summons a magic plow and messes around a little bit. Carefully listening for anything that could help, he eventually comes across a huge tree.

Marking it as his landmark, he summons a shovel and begins digging till he finds water and manages to secure a source. He summons appropriate tools and starts clearing the land around his base, cutting a tree and skinning the log.

He will need shelter to survive the upcoming nights and chisels some cups and helpful tools as he spends the night inside the tree. He uses a summoned magnifying glass to create a fire.

As he wonders about food sources, a rabbit goes to attack him. Conveniently, he takes it out quickly and gets to eat some grilled rabbit. He builds a toilet and then begins cultivating his land, wondering about all the crops he could plant.

He sleeps the night and wakes up to find that some seedlings are already planted in the field. After building a protective fence around the farm, the days pass as he slowly builds more houses and advances his farm.

He comes across two dogs and gives them some meat. One of the dogs is pregnant and is beginning to go into labor, so he lets it rest in the house he built as he gives it some privacy during the night and sleeping in the tree.

The morning comes, and along with it, the beautiful gifts of birth as a whole litter of puppies have also been born. The crops have finally reached the harvest stage and are revealed to be some healthy tomatoes that both Hiraku and the dogs enjoy.

About Farming Life in Another World

Farming Life in Another World is an isekai manga by Kinosuke Naito. It was first launched in 2016 and will receive an anime in 2023.

The manga focuses on Kiraku, a middle-aged man who dies of overwork. A deity takes pity on him and transports him into another world with a younger and healthy body with additional powers.

Hiraku chooses to have a peaceful life farming and tending to his land. He eventually makes friends and even a tiny village on his farming journey.
