Epic Games Store Launches Epic Rewards- Giving 5% Rewards on Purchases

Steam has recently revamped its purchasing options, introducing free trials wherein players can try out their favorite titles for an hour and a half before being asked to purchase the game. The first such title to introduce the trial concept was Dead Space Remake.

Epic Games store has now announced that they will be awarding 5% back in rewards on every eligible purchase made on the Epic Games Store. This is called the Epic Rewards and is live as of 18th May 2023.

Epic Games, ever since its introduction in late December of 2018, has been competing with one of the leading websites for games – Steam. To keep up, Epic has offered countless free games, most notably Grand Theft Auto V, created a self-publishing tool for Indie Devs and has deployed several other tactics to draw traffic to their website.

As a part of their latest cashback tactic, players will get 5% of what they paid for eligible games, add-ons, or virtual currencies.

While it has yet to be mentioned which games and add-ons are precisely available for the 5% back policy, it is expected that it will feature some of the big titles that Epic Games has on sale.

Epic games Webstore – The free title being offered for this week is “Death Stranding”

One particular game that was hinted at was Fortnite when Epic mentioned that the cashback is available for V-bucks which is short for VirtualBucks, used in-game in Fortnite.

It was mentioned that once the “Epic Reward” is received, players can encash them at checkout during future purchases. Unlike other offers, they can also be combined with discounts and coupons for even better mind-blowing deals.

Players can grab “Death Stranding” on the Epic Games store for free until 25th May. This game has been critically acclaimed and is Hideo Kojima’s first project since leaving Konami.

The only caveat mentioned was that the Epic Rewards expire 25 months from the date they were granted. While this is a long time to encash all the rewards, this deadline must be kept in mind to prevent players from losing out on some sweet discounts.
