Aoi’s significant hike ends in episode 13 of Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit, titled “Onward! To a New Summit”.

As she reaches the summit, the altitude sickness she has been dreading finally hits. Being out of commission for a day, Hinata stays by her side and keeps her company lighting up the room with her humorous personality.

She doesn’t stay down, as Aoi manages to get up and finish the hike through pure willpower and determination, as she gets to the highest point in Japan, Kengamine.

There won’t be another anime episode as it has ended its run. The studio has yet to renew the anime for the fifth season, and there has been no announcement. The season is quite underrated but highly rated, so there is still a possibility of an announcement as the manga is still going. For now, we will have to be satisfied with all we have got.

The group begins their journey up Mt Fuji, keeping their strides short and pacing themselves through the marshy trail. The sun starts clearing up, relieving Aoi and her worries about problematic weather to hike through.

As the clouds roll back in, they take a small break, and Aoi receives a much-needed pep talk from Hinata as they continue their journey. They follow a tradition of chanting Rokkon Shojo as they travel up the scenic trail.

The beautiful sun is visible through the clouds giving a most aesthetic view. A small store opens, where they have a quick break with some Pork miso soup.

They talk about the risks past hikers took, compared to the advancements that make it much more friendly for beginner hikers. They pass the 3000-meter point, filled with clouds and calm winds.

Aoi has a moment of weakness as she staggers to her knees. Altitude sickness is finally getting to her again, but it isn’t as bad as to affect her appetite. However, she is advised to rest at the stop area while they continue.

Hinata stays back with Aoi, much to her guilt. But she does not bring her down, whistling a beautiful lullaby and calming her down. They have rice and curry, and Hinata’s joyful mood is the only thing keeping Aoi in check.

Aoi worries about how she’ll feel as she heads to bed in the morning. They wake up, and she feels more or less ok as they begin going into even more difficult paths through fog and winds. The darkness consumes them, but they power through and take it slow.

With the power of Yokan, some yummy candy, and pure willpower, she powers through the final stretch for the top and makes it to the summit. They make it to the rest of the group just in time for the sunrise, but the clouds are in the way.

As if an angel is watching over them, the clouds swift by quickly just in time to clear the way for the most beautiful sunrise of their lives. The summit of Mt Fuji proves its worth in the intensity of beauty emanated by the view.

After seeing the sunrise, they go to Kengamine, the actual summit. Aoi still feels ok enough to go, and they reach the otherworldly summit. Every part of her body hurts, but she doesn’t falter and makes it to the highest point in Japan.
