In the sixth episode of Otaku Elf, Elda worries that Koito has become sick of her after spending so much time away from the shrine. Elda is relieved to know Koito has simply been focused on her studies, and Koito uses Elda’s age to her advantage to pass her history test.

Elda becomes concerned when Koito plans to devote more time to her studies, worrying she has become sick of her. She becomes even more concerned when Koito purchases an academic achievement charm from another shrine. Seeing Koito study, Elda recalls being summoned and forced to learn Japanese at a temple school.
Elda continually interrupts Koito out of boredom until she realizes she can ask Elda anything about history because she lived through it. Unfortunately, Elda’s stories are marred by grumblings about how difficult life was back then.
Elda impulsively offers to pay for sushi as a reward, and Koito passes the exam. Elda is disturbed since she has to attend a rite every fifty years to honor Mt. Fuji because it takes place at Tokyo’s tallest point, the Tokyo Skytree, and Elda fears heights.
To divert her attention, Elda relates how The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter inspired the name Mt. Fuji. Even though mikos are not permitted to enter the sanctuary with Elda, she insists on Koito staying. Elda begs Koito to be friendlier to her, and Koito begs Elda to quit buying so many expensive games.
4. About Otaku Elf
The Otaku Elf (Edomae Elf) manga by Akihiko Higuchi was launched in Kodansha’s Shounen Magazine Edge in 2019. As of June 2022, it has been collected into six volumes. An anime adaptation for the series is set to arrive in spring 2023.
In the Takamimi Shrine resides an immortal elf who loves games. So, when the new high priestess, Koito, enters the shrine, she realizes that Elda has no interest in blessing people and simply wants to play all day long. The series follows the duo as Koito tries her best to make Elda perform her duties.
