Drifters is a story based in a world different to ours, which is filled with magical creatures and monsters. However, the world is not as magical as it sounds. In stark difference to the basic, jolly isekai world, Drifters is a dark tale of fighting for survival and dominance.
Drifters portrays an alliance of heroical figures from different timelines. All these heroes have been gathered to bring forth their might in a battle to establish the dominance of their species.
The Drifters manga has been on a break since December 2019, and an end to the break is finally here. The September issue of the Young King Ours magazine will publish chapter 80 of the Drifters manga.
The Drifters manga is licensed for North America, Poland, Taiwan, France, Germany, and Italy. The manga was adapted into a 12 episode anime in 2016. The anime also has 3 OVAs, which are to serve as the episodes 13,14 & 15.
The anime was streamed on both Funimation and Crunchyroll but it is currently available only on HULU.
Chapter 79 Recap
Yoichi is faced by Minamata no Yoshitsune, the former general of Yoichi. Yoshitsune is in the middle of the war between the Drifters and the Ends, but it was difficult to understand where his interest lies.
In chapter 79, it was evident that Yoshitsune didn’t participate in the battle of Mamon fields because he had already calculated the defeat of Nobunaga’s forces and was lying in wait to devour the retreating troops.
Chapter 80 Speculations
The next chapter will show the battle between the retreating forces of Nobunaga and the troops of Yoshitsune. It is evident that Nobunaga’s army is exhausted after the long battle at Mamon fields and are under no condition to fight.
What will be the result of this new brawl? Will Yoshitsune come out as the victor, or are there hidden allies who will reveal themselves?
