Dai turns into a Dragonoid in episode 98 of Dragon Quest, titled “Dai’s Decision.”

It was an epic episode. The anime has reached its peak in these final episodes. The animation was great, and Dai’s Dragonoid form was the episode’s highlight. The boy looked pretty dope and badass.

Now we are only left with two episodes. The final fight won’t take that long and might end in the next episode itself. I am hyped to see the series finally end.

Episode 99 Speculations

The battle will have its grand end in episode 99 of Dragon Quest, titled “Victory by these Hands.”

Dai has turned into a fierce and bloodthirsty Dragonoid. He has completely overpowered Vearn, and it looks like he will finally finish Vearn once and for all in the next episode.

The fight will go on for a long, but it will most probably conclude by the end of the episode. It will be interesting to see how it ends and what will happen to Dai after the battle is over.

Episode 98 Recap

A monster attacks Masopho and his crew near the core. However, Moasopho’s brother comes to their rescue. He looks fatally ill and thus tells Masopho to freeze the core with his magic.

He is reluctant, but they give it a shot after some motivation from his crew. Vearn detonates the cores, but the explosion doesn’t happen. The sky shines bright like gold. Gomechan says his final goodbye to everyone and departs.

Dai, Popp, and Leona turn towards Vearn. Vearn is quiet for some reason, and after a while, he accepts his defeat. He wonders about how humans hold such great power yet waste it on pointless pursuits.

He decides to slaughter everyone and then repeat what he did. It won’t matter to him because he is immortal. Dai tells Popp and Leona to gather all their Eyes. He tells them to keep them safe and get out of the palace, as something destructive will happen.

He decides to fight Vearn alone. Popp is surprised to see two Dragon Crests, each on one hand of Dai. His father’s crest hasn’t been working at full power, so he will simultaneously unleash the full power of both crests.

Popp and Leona are not ready to leave him alone and want to see it all through to the end, but Vearn sends them into a deep dark hole within the Vearn Palace.

He sends both of the crests to his forehead and transforms into a Dragonoid. Vearn is shocked to see his aura. He relentlessly attacks Dai but easily blocks his attack and breaks one of Vearn’s horns.

He completely wreaks Vearn, with Vearn failing to find any opening or returning his attacks. Vearn starts to see in Dai what is missing, the bloodlust in his eyes. Dai started to look like Baran. Vearn is overwhelmed but refuses to lose.

They both launch a fierce attack on each other.

About Dragon Quest: Dai no Daiboken (2020)

Dragon Quest is an anime and manga series based on the rpg video game of the same name.

The story features Dai, a boy living in the Dermline Islands and his quest of becoming a hero and realizing his powers and helping Princess Leona along the way.

The games were adapted into two major television series. Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai is the remake of the 1991 series which had 46 episodes in total.
