Episode 74 Recap

Everyone is shocked to see Avan. Popp can’t believe his eyes, and he thinks that it is just a delusion, but it is the real Avan standing in front of them. They got overjoyed and began crying. Maam and Dai rush towards him and hug him tightly.

Hyunckel has turned his face away from Avan. He can’t bring himself to show his face to Avan. Hyunckel regrets how he used to treat Avan in the past and thinks he will never forgive him, but Avan isn’t angry with him and proud of him.

Leona comes forward and asks Avan how he is still alive as they saw him sacrificing himself in the fight against Haldar. Avan replied that, in reality, he never really died and actually survived the spell. He has been alive all this time, and it’s all thanks to a gift from queen Flora.

Queen Flora gave him the Amulet of Carl, which has been passed down in the royal family. When he used Megante against Haldar back then, all the harm that was supposed to be caused by the spell was absorbed by the Amulet of Carl, barely saving his life.

All of the disciples got curious and started asking him questions, but Avan sensed something malicious and told them to race up the stairs, and he will join them later. Everyone followed his order and started running upstairs.

Killvearn woke up and put his weapon at Avan’s neck. He threatens Avan, telling him that he has set up traps everywhere in the palace, but to his shock, Avan knows that the traps won’t work if he is not there to activate them. Killvearn tries to attack him but is not able to because of a spell used by Avan.

Avan slices him with his sword, cutting his mask in half. Killvearn runs away from there. Avan catches up with his disciples, telling them that he was always one step behind them.

Hyunckel doesn’t believe him and suspects that he is hiding something from them as he has grown way too weak in comparison to what he was before.

Dragon Quest is an anime and manga series based on the rpg video game of the same name.

The story features Dai, a boy living in the Dermline Islands and his quest of becoming a hero and realizing his powers and helping Princess Leona along the way.

The games were adapted into two major television series. Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai is the remake of the 1991 series which had 46 episodes in total.
