Dai receives the help of a Master named Avan and brings the forest back under control.
The hero trainer helps Dai train in order to prepare him to fight the Dark Lord.

Episode 4 of the Dragon Quest anime, titled “The Dark Lord Hadlar’s Return”, has been released on Saturday, Oct 24, 2020 at 9:30 am PDT.

2. Episode 4 Speculation
A small preview of Episode 4 was shown at the end of the second episode.
The preview shows Dai battling a Dragon to learn the Avan Style Sword Technique. The dragon is none other than Avan himself shapeshifting into a dragon to fight Dai. Dai bravely faces Avan
But, an evil presence is amidst the island and slowly closing in.
Who is that evil presence and will Dai fight it? We will find out all about it in Episode 4 of Dragon Quest.
3. Episode 3 Recap
In the episode 3 of Dragon Quest titled “The Hero’s Tutor” the dark army is seen slowly marching towards the forest.
Dai informs Brass of the emergency and observes Brass also affected by dark powers. The whole forest goes berserk and the monsters attack each other.
Brass informs Dai that the Dark Lord has returned to take over the world and he instructs Dai to leave the island before he gets harmed.
Dai being a true hero refuses to run away when two other heroes come to their rescue.
One of the masters draws lines on the ground and casts a spell to ward off the evil poison and dark clouds in the island. The monsters get cured and things go back to normal.
The master says he is a hero trainer and introduces himself as Avan De Zinuar III. He says he is training his pupil to become a Mage Popp and has returned to the island because the Dark Lord has returned.
Due to King Romos’s orders Dai decides to train under Avan to defeat the Dark Lord. Suddenly some gargoyles make a magic circle and trap the whole island inside of it.
The pupil manages to escape the circle and burns the gargoyles with Kafrizz. Dai also helps defeat the gargoyles. Avan trains Dai every day and every night and when he has learned every sword technique he shows him his Dragon Transformation Technique.

Dragon Quest is an anime and manga series based on the rpg video game of the same name.
The story features Dai, a boy living in the Dermline Islands and his quest of becoming a hero and realizing his powers and helping Princess Leona along the way.
The games were adapted into two major television series. Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai is the remake of the 1991 series which had 46 episodes in total.
