See Series Finale: SPOILER Dies Protecting His Family

The See finale features the death of several major characters in the series, including the protagonist, Baba Voss.

Created by Stephen Knight of Peaky Blinders fame, the Apple TV+ series is an unconventional entry into the dystopian science fiction genre. The story is set in a world ravaged by a pandemic. Most of humanity is dead, and the descendants of the survivors have lost the ability to see.

The series begins with a glimmering ray of hope for the survivors, when sight starts to return to the world. Baba Voss, a former slave-turned-leader of a tribe, becomes the stepfather of two children who are born with their sense of sight. He vows to protect Haniwa and Kofun from a world determined to harm them.

Over the course of three seasons, we experience Baba Voss’s incredible journey for survival. Baba Voss fights till the end to protect his family and loved ones, as he did throughout the series. The See finale is epic in proportion and gives an apt ending to every major character in the show.

The series finale begins where the previous episode left off. Maghra and her children realize that it is too late to stop Baba. Baba had already gone to fight the forces of Tormada’s renegade Trivantian army and Sibeth’s Witchfinders.

Maghra and her people realized that they could not waste any more time, as Sibeth and Tormada could resume bombing anytime. Ultimately, that’s what happened. When Sibeth and Tormada figure out that their enemies are hiding underground, they resumed their bombing.

Maghra and Sibeth

One of the bombs destroys the tunnel and nearly kills Kofun. This is when Maghra decides that it is better to die fighting than hide underground.

In the series finale, Baba Voss takes on an army with Ranger’s help for his family’s sake. This results in a satisfying, epic battle to end this saga. Many major characters face their end in the See finale, including Baba Voss.

To kill the enemy soldiers, Baba cuts his way to the bombs, causing them to explode. However, he too meets his end during the battle. In the series finale, Baba Voss died as he lived, protecting his family till his last breath.

Apart from Baba Voss, major characters such as Sibeth and Tormada also die in the finale. During the last battle, Maghra arrived on the battlefield and urged her sister, Sibeth to speak to her one last time.

Despite being staunch enemies for most of their lives, the two embrace each other in their final moments. At this point, Sibeth thinks that she has won. But Maghra had other plans. She pulls out the tiny knife that her sister had always kept under her skin and stabs her with it.

Tormada is killed by Ranger. He finally managed to take revenge for the torture and pain that Tormada put him through. Thus, both the leaders of the enemies die an apt death in the series finale.

The See finale was bittersweet, but it offered us the perfect ending for each of the characters. Baba Voss sacrificed his life to protect his family, while the enemy leaders paid for their misdeeds. The finale also had well-written endings for both Haniwa and Kofun.

Haniwa and Kofun

Although the two children grew up with the same parents, their views about their sense of sight were different. Kofun always felt alienated for being able to see, while Haniwa was proud of this ability.

As a result, Kofun decided to give up his sense of sight to be one with the people of Paya and a just ruler to them. He also wanted to belong to the same world as his son, Wolffe who too is blind in the series. In contrast, Haniwa decides to leave the land to explore humanity’s past.
