The Real Motive Behind Mike Prince’s Move Against Rask Sportswear In Billions

Billions season 6 seems to be holding up quite well without Bobby Axelrod. The new approach the show is taking seems to have more than meets the eye.

While Mike Prince is portrayed as someone who wants to do some good, he might have ulterior motives.

Billions season 6 episode 2 hints at Mike Prince’s hidden intentions behind creating and building Prince List and going against Rask Sportswear.

On the outside, he explains how he wants to take down the giant company for having dirty money, and how his move would garner the world’s attention to Prince List he is creating.

For those of you who don’t remember, in episode 1, Mike Prince announces Prince List, where the Michael Prince Capital company will take up only clients who have clean money.

All of this seems too good to be true. Even the characters in the company are wondering why they are pursuing good deeds instead of pursuing money.

One explanation could be that this is the new way of things which is much different than Axelrod’s style. But another more realistic answer could be that Mike Prince is up to something much bigger than any of us can imagine.

So what are Mike Prince’s true intentions?

Mike Prince might want to win his ex-wife, Andy, back and build a new empire. He goes after Rask Sportswear, Andy’s company’s sponsor, and tells her how she could have a new sponsor, the position of a head coach for all climbing sports.

Besides this, he talks about New York Olympics, which perhaps hints at his new empire, and how, after the event, the various spaces would be converted into sports facilities, low-income housing, etc.

While this makes Mike Prince looks ambitious and romantic at the same time, it doesn’t make him look dirty. However, Wendy thought otherwise.

She tells Taylor how Mike Prince has Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which means he thinks he’s better than everyone else and wouldn’t stop until he gets what he wants.

This offers an entirely different and fascinating perspective to Mike Prince’s character, shown as the good guy in season 6, episode 1.

Wendy is an incredible psychiatrist who saw through Bobby Axelrod and knew his true nature. So I trust her judgment when she reveals what she thinks about Mike Prince.

This revelation makes Mike Prince much more dangerous than even Axelrod since Bobby knew who he was and did not have complexes in his mind.

Mike Prince’s Narcissistic Personality Disorder makes him delusional, which is a greater threat to anyone who stands in his way. If he’s on his way to building an empire, I don’t think he can do it just by following the ‘right’ path since it’s impractical.

There’s a good chance that we might see him face obstacles in future episodes that force him to choose the dirty path. However, due to his NPD, he could justify it as doing it for the greater good of the city, the people, and his relationship with Andy.

When he does so, we might see Chuck go after him, whose current target is the billionaire community of New York. Perhaps this is how these two main characters of the show go against each other, and we just have to see who comes out on top.

Well, I know I’m speculating, but I have a strong feeling that the show might follow these tropes.

After all, it’s pretty unlikely that Mike is the good guy since the show needs to have opposing forces fighting against each other, and who better than Mike Prince and Chuck Rhoades to represent these two forces.
