Whittaker’s Doctor Who S13 Is Here To Warn People Against ‘Flux’

With Doctor Who season 13’s teaser trailer out, the beginning of the end of an era is arriving soon.

The highly-anticipated series finally has an official title (and a villain) – Doctor Who: Flux.

The teaser trailer released by BBC American hints at what the thirteenth season of Doctor Who will entail – the return of the baddies Sontarans, Weeping Angels, and Ravages, among many others. Along with the biggest of them all – Flux.

Doctor Who season 13 will be Jodie Whittaker’s final season as the Doctor.

The teaser shows Whittaker’s glitchy warning message and a couple of interruptions, which fans might remember, occurred during BBC broadcasts the past week too. (Talk about marketing a show that well!)

Check out the warnings from Doctor for the upcoming season 3 teaser trailer below:

The Flux is Coming… | Doctor Who

We still don’t know who or what Flux is or how powerful it is. But we’re sure of one thing – if the Doctor’s sending an SOS, then it’s something big.

The Doctor Who: Flux is releasing at the perfect time when the world will be filled with spooky creatures. It will premiere on BBC One, BBC America, and BBC iPlayer on October 31, 2021.

While a new Doctor is yet to be cast, fans can reel in the three feature-length episodes starring Jodie Whittaker soon after the show ends.

Whittaker’s not the only one leaving the much-loved time-travel show. Showrunner Chris Chibnall is too.

Jodie and I made a “three series and out” pact with each other at the start of this once-in-a-lifetime blast. So now our shift is done, and we’re handing back the Tardis keys.

Chris Chibnall to Deadline

The showrunner brought Whittaker with him to the show four years ago. She is the first woman in the history of Doctor Who to play the Doctor, bringing in a special refreshing touch to the character.

Veteran showrunner Russel T. Davies will lead the show after Chibnall. Even Matt Stremans, the executive producer, is leaving.

The three feature-length specials are slated to drop on New Year’s, Spring, and Fall 2022, respectively.

Doctor Who: Flux will premiere on October 31, 2021.

About Doctor Who

Doctor Who is a British sci-fi TV program produced by the BBC since 1963. The series aired from 1963-89 and was then again revived in 2005.

The program depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called “The Doctor,” an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-traveling spaceship called the TARDIS.  With various companions, the Doctor combats foes, saves civilizations, and helps people in need.

Over the years, many actors like Jodie Whittaker, William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, and Peter Davidson have played the Doctor. Hartnell was the first actor to be cast as Doctor Who.
