Diamond no Ace Act II Chapter 283: Release Date, Delay, Discussion

Chapter 282 of Diamond no Ace Act II, titled “Limitless,” was the manga’s latest installment.

Miyuki’s excellent timing for a changeup led Seidou to score another run. The panels that showed a sequence of the captain’s uppercut swing were exceptional, and he knew a changeup was coming when he adjusted his swing.

Miyuki is also the first one in the story to actually combat Mei’s monstrously upgraded changeup. His performance brought Zono to the batter’s box, and now it looks like he’s going to attempt a squeeze play.

Will Zono’s squeeze play let Seidou take the lead? We’ll find out in the next chapter.

1. Chapter 283 Discussions and Predictions

In the next chapter, we will take off after Zono attempts to squeeze play. If his bunt succeeds, Shirasu might score, making Seidou lead with one run, two outs, and a runner on the second. Furuya might enter the batter’s box and bring Miyuki home.

Mei’s frustration will get worse, but he’ll still try to make his emotions not get in the way. If the score gets to 2-1, then it will be a great time to bring Sawamura in. Either this or if the game gets tied to 2-2 after Seidou’s pitch, Sawamura enters to score another run.

5. Chapter 282 Recap

He hits the ball, and it’s a low changeup. The batter scoops it up and propels the ball to the right field. Inajitsu is surprised that Miyuki actually hit such a low pitch. He made contact with the tip of his bat, and it seems like there can’t be much power behind it.

Kuramochi tags up, and he’s sure he can make it home even after the ball hits the ground. The tension rises as the stadium anticipates whether the ball will hit the ground or be caught. The second baseman and the right fielder are chasing the ball mid-air.

The ball finally hits the grass, after which it is caught by the right-fielder. The runner from third comes home before the ball, making the score a tie. Seidou rejoices at the priceless RBI wrestle from the Inajitsu ace, Mei, who hasn’t given up a single run in the current tournament until now.

As Seidou celebrates, Mei dismisses their loss by saying that if Miyuki managed to get a pitch like that, then it couldn’t be helped. He addresses his team and tells them to switch gears. Inajitsu cheers Mei saying that they’ll take them out one at a time.

Again, we’re in a situation with one out and runners on first and third. Seidou continues to bat, and the next in the batter’s box is five-hole, Zono. He takes a deep breath, reminding himself that the next run will significantly affect the rest of the game.

Inajitsu’s catcher predicts that Zono will be swinging right from the first pitch, and hence they should aim for a double play with the cutter. Mei is frustrated but pushes his emotions aside, deciding to deal with them after taking care of the situation at hand.

The last panel hints towards a squeeze play where Seidou might take can advantage of their lead and obtain another run.
