Desperate Housewives Star Gives Her Input on Possible Reboot

Ever since the glamorous life of Wisteria Lane’s wives ended in 2012, we haven’t dared to hope for a reboot or sequel continuing the story of the Desperate Housewives. But now series star Teri Hatcher has provided the sitcom’s fans with an update on the possibility of a reboot!

The nighttime soap ended over a decade ago, and Hatcher recently reunited with her onscreen daughter, Andrea Bowen. Speaking about her love for the cast and the show with E!News, Hatcher shared a disappointing update, stating she didn’t think “there’ll be a reboot.” You can read her full quote below:

I don’t think there’ll be a reboot. I think it’s been a long time. We had amazing fans, and I know everyone on that show is really grateful for the journey. It was a beautiful place to work up there. The actual Wisteria Lane is probably one of the most amazing sets to get to work on. It’s just at the top of the hill of Universal. It really overlooks the whole city. It’s a gorgeous place to go.

Her [Andrea Bowen, who played Julie] and my real daughter [Emerson Tenney], we all had dinner about three weeks ago, and she’s 32 years old. She is the most beautiful human being and still an amazing actress. And then I ran into Mark Moses a few days ago also. So, it’s good.

Show creator Marc Cherry had also talked about a possible reboot a while back, saying if the cast and story were good, he’d do it. But with how the series wrapped up its story, we think Cherry shared Hatcher’s previous sentiment, saying the perfect ending might be spoiled with a revival.

The show had been a global hit since its premiere in 2004 and only climbed in popularity throughout its TV run. And even though the numbers had started falling by the end, they were still respectable and even good if measured to today’s standards.

Even though the show won’t return for a reboot, its legacy still remains strong and is carried by various spinoffs and standalone projects inspired by the show.
