4. Chapter 203 Speculations/Predictions
Chapter 202 ended with Tanjiro’s consciousness starting to come back. The next chapter will likely show Tanjiro’s internal struggle against Muzan’s will to have control over his body again.
With Nezuko and the others to support him in this transition, he is most definitely going to return to normal.
5. Chapter 202 Plot
The chapter picks up where chapter 201 left off – Inosuke’s sword at Tanjiro’s throat, hesitating to cut it off. In the moment of hesitation, Tanjiro attacked Inosuke, however, Nezuko intervened and embraced Tanjiro while getting bit by him. She apologizes for all the pain he has been put through in this journey and asks him to return home with her.
Tanjiro, still not in his senses, continues recklessly attacking everything with Nezuko clinging to his body. Everyone tries to hold him back so that Nezuko does not get hurt and continue asking him to stop. In his anger, Tanjiro sends a shockwave throwing everyone except Nezuko back.
The Demon Slayers try to take him down with their breathing forms, however, they do not affect.
Tanjiro charges up an energy attack, but Nezuko puts her hand in the way of the charge up – stopping up, but damaging herself. Tomioka realizes that Tanjiro isn’t hurting Nezuko despite her bleeding which makes it clear that Tanjiro’s consciousness is still inside that body, fighting off Muzan’s will.
Kanao then walks towards the scene, holding an extra vial of the medicine that turns demons back to humans. She uses her flower breathing to regenerate her eye for the time being. She then proceeds to go in and stab Tanjiro’s body with the medicine as she gets cut by one of his attacks.
The chapter ends with Tanjiro freezing.
