Episode 1 of Dance Dance Danseur begins with a flashback of a dance recital, where Murao is seen sleeping in the auditorium. His sister performs, and as Murao wakes up, a strong and manly ballet dancer comes on stage.
Murao wants to learn ballet and even joins classes but doesn’t continue because his father died in an accident. After this accident, he stopped doing ballet and joined Jeet Kune Do classes instead. Will he ever dance again?

Episode 1 Recap
The episode begins with a dance recital that Murao’s parents are watching. They cheer for his elder sister, who they later lose sight of in the crowd of little girls. Murao sleeps through most of this.
A male ballet dancer then comes on stage and starts moving gracefully. He has tattoos, tanned skin, and ruffled hair covering his eyes. Murao is mesmerized by the manly ballet dancer.
Then we see present-day Murao, a teenager popular amongst his friends for his fighting skills. As he shows his friends some moves, he kicks his feet in the air and lands gracefully.
His friends think it’s something he learned in his Jeet Kune Do classes, but his classmate Miyako knows better. She starts playing the piano catching Murao’s attention. He sits at the piano, thinking of Miyako’s piano piece.
As Murao heads out for his martial art classes, he sees Miyako waiting for him, and he thinks she’s about to confess. She asked him to do the jump he had done earlier, and she recognized the ballet move. Murao denies it but lets her drag him to the ballet studio anyway.
Miyako introduces Murao as a ballet prodigy to her mother, who doesn’t believe her. Murao dances for her, and she still criticizes him.
When Miyako talks to her mother later, she says she’ll teach him ballet, but the boy has to come to class on his own. Murao does that and is accepted into her class. Murao starts missing his martial art classes for ballet, and his mother finds out, but he doesn’t want to tell her the truth.
Miyako’s mother asks Murao to participate in the upcoming dance recital, but he refuses. He runs away, and Miyako’s mother goes upstairs to tell a boy called Luou that she’s found a male dancer better than him.
