Sandstars are a unique and especially charming type of endemic life in Monster Hunter Wilds. To capture one, you must participate in a side quest titled “Samin’s Special Research Report.” Finding these creatures is easy, but the real challenge is catching one successfully. 1. Where to find Sandstar in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Players can find Sandstar around the deserted areas 11, 13, and 16 of Windward Plains during nighttime.
Samin will hint at finding nocturnal creatures in the Windward Plains: set your quest for nighttime and Plenty. Explore the sandy areas of the Windward Plains and run across the dunes.
The Sandstars are small but easy to spot because they are bright blue and white. They look like little fluffy light blue balls, with another small puff of blue as their tail.
2. How to catch Sandstar in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Sandstars have sensitive hearing, so chasing them isn’t the best method to catch them. However, that sensitive hearing can be useful if you equip yourself with Sonic Bombs.
They move quickly, but you can use Screamer Pods to slow it down. If not, use your Ghillie Mantle to sneak up behind it while crouching.
Make sure you have a screamer pod equipped on your slinger. Hit the Sandstar with a screamer pod to stun it. Once it’s stunned, quickly equip your capture net from your item bar or Essential Items menu. You need to be quick because the stun doesn’t last long.
Equip the net and shoot it at the Sandstar. Remember, you can shoot the net while riding your Seikret, so use that if the Sandstar is still moving fast.
3. How to get Screamer Pods in the Monster Hunter Wilds?
Screamer pods cannot be crafted. Players can get a screamer pod by collecting an echo feather.
To find them, open your map and use the icon filter. Scroll down to Baunos and use the left button to see their locations.
