Hirata will likely be a vital character to lead the class in the final exam, as teamwork will play a big part. Moreover, Katsuragi’s leaking information will also be helpful to Ayanokoji.

Sakayanagi may have already caught wind of Katsuragi hating him. Therefore, Sakayanagi may use this opportunity to feed Class C fake information through Katsuragi. This could throw off Ayanokoji initially, leading them to lose the first game.

However, Ayanokoji will definitely win the overall final exam, primarily because the loser will be expelled from the competition. As the series’s protagonist, Ayanokoji cannot be removed from the school so quickly.

Ayanokoji asks Hirata to explain what he’s going through, and he opens up about his childhood bullying. Hirata had a friend in middle school who attempted suicide after severe bullying. The bullies moved on to another kid after the incident, and Hirata couldn’t bear to see it happen.

Hirata had started his reign of terror in school afterward, making everyone scared of him. Hirata regrets ruining everyone’s school years and is upset he almost did the same thing in high school. Ayanokoji gives Hirata the harsh truth, saying he could’ve saved Yamauchi if he tried hard enough.

Ayanokoji calls Hirata a deluded man who’s all talk and no action and tells him to move on. All he can do is face his actions and push forward. The next day, Hirata apologizes to the entire class and asks for their forgiveness.
