Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry or more popularly known as Chivalry of a Failed Knight is an isekai anime series which grasped the attention of everyone with an impeccable storyline and compelling theme when it was released in Fall 2015.

The first season ended with a bang, the final fight between Ikki and Tondou liver up to its hype, and the anime received a great response from the fans.

Despite being a hit, there has been no news regarding a sequel. Throughout the article, we will talk about the prospects of a new season and other interesting aspects.

1. Release Date of Part 2

As of the last update, there has been no news regarding the news of a sequel to the famous isekai series. There is no announcement from the side of the studios and the producers.

However, there is one thing that points towards the happening of a second season for real.

The official websites of Silver Link and Nexus revealed that a ‘Special’ is coming soon. If everything goes right, we might see the OVA by early 2022.

2. Will There Be A Second Season?

The popularity of the fantasy anime series is quite high; people around the globe still hasn’t given up and remain hopeful that a new season will be announced soon.

There is an ample amount of source material, and judging by the popularity it is blessed by, there should be no problem in the production of a sequel of the isekai anime series.

In all, there are high chances that the production companies will award the fans with a second installment soon. If one is to make a guess, the anime should be broadcasted by the end of 2021.

3. Theory Section

There are high chances that a new season will come out, but nothing can be said for sure now as the studios or any production houses haven’t disclosed anything yet.

In 2019, there were rumors that ‘Chivalry of a Failed Knight Season 2’ is in production and will be released by the end of the year, but as it turned out, they were nothing but half baked rumors.

The light novels have been well received. According to the Japanese light novel news website LN News, the series had 1.5 million copies in print by February 2017.

Oricon ranked Chivalry of a Failed Knight as the 29th and 17th top-selling light novel series in November 2015 and May 2016, respectively. 

In addition, its anime adaptation also appeared on top-selling charts.

(b) The Studio

Chivalry of a Failed Knight was a collaborative effort of Studio Silver Link and Studio Nexus, respectively.

Both the studios did a brilliant job, and the overall animation of the anime series was fantastic, resembling the tone and setting of the show.

(c) The Animation

The art and animation of the show are colorful and eye-catching.

The color palette has some sort of pop into the series, which makes it very clean and vibrant to look at, fits with the mood of the atmosphere in the show.

The character designs are also very appealing and beautiful to look at.

(d) About Riku Misora

Riku Misora is the man behind the creation of ‘Chivalry of a Failed Knight’, and he, along with his illustrator ‘Won’, did an outstanding job. As of now, there are a total of 17 volumes. The last volume came in November 2019.

The work on the 18th volume is ongoing. There is little to no information about Riku Misora’s health but from the consistency in his work, one can infer that he is in good health.

(e) Production Update

Sentai Filmworks, Nexus, Silver Link, or any other production company related to the production of the second installment hasn’t disclosed any kind of information yet.

The first season of the anime series covered three volumes of the light novel series.

Chivalry of a Failed Knight is an isekai light novel series penned by Riku Misora and illustrated by Won. The first volume was released on July 15, 2013, and is serialized in SB Creative’s GA Bunko Imprint.

The series was adapted into a manga illustrated by Megumu Soramichi, printed in the monthly manga magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan from 2014 to 2017. It was collected in eleven tankobon volumes.

An anime adaptation by Silver Link and Nexus aired in Fall 2015. The first episode broadcasted on October 3, 2015.
