Lycoris Recoil deceived us all with its cute visuals and cafe-themed plot. Not that we’re complaining, but a heads-up would have been nice.
While we did get a cute cafe story, it wasn’t exactly all rainbows and sunshine. All those waiting on a comfort anime got borderline traumatized as the trailers heavily downplayed the anime’s dark side.
Now that the truth is out after its July debut, the franchise has started to focus more on the action. Lycoris Recoil anime’s latest promotional video highlights the story’s real essence by teasing a thrilling finale.
Till now, the anime has been revolving around one main story with several side missions. While Chisato and Takina were partnering up to complete assignments, a much bigger scheme was being carried out simultaneously.
It started with Walnut or Kurumi getting targeted by the hacker Roboto and escalated into a series of terrorist attacks and assassinations. Majima was the one behind it all and even swore to destroy the DA and kill all Lycoris in the recent episodes.
Besides Majima, another person was working towards the DA’s downfall and eliminating Chisato. Irony came knocking at the door when it was revealed that the man who saved Chisato 10 years ago, Mr. Yoshi, was pulling the strings.
The trailer highlights a lot of bloodshed, action, and people pointing guns at each other. Needless to say, the finale will be one hell of a ride.
Furthermore, the franchise also revealed a key visual featuring Chisato and Takina in the center with Majima and Yoshi in the background.
