Cheat Kusushi no Slow Life Light Novel Gets TV Anime Adaptation

The heartwarming comedy fantasy story of Reiji, an ordinary, stiff worker who ends up in an alternate world, is a light novel piece that touched many hearts. What could be better than getting something like that animated?

Publishing company Hifumi Shobo announced on Saturday at Comiket 97 that an anime adaptation of Kennoji’s Cheat Kusushi no Slow Life: Isekai ni Tsukurou Drugstore (Cheat Pharmacist’s Slow Life: Making a Drugstore in Another World) is in the works.

Official Synopsis:

“One day, a corporate slave Reiji suddenly got transported to another world. He made the best of his skills to make better potions which earned him lots of money and with that money, made a drugstore! An Elf who has trouble aiming with his bow? Give him some eye-drops! A Dragon who always let breathes out fire unintentionally? Don’t worry, we have cough medicine for you! Reiji’s new, fun, slow life as a pharmacist in a village drugstore starts now!!”

Kennoji began the work on the comedy-fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in July 2016. Linda Publishers released two volumes with artworks by Nigou Shouji in February and June 2017. Hifumi Shobo reacquired the series afterwards and published the first volume last April, featuring illustrations by Matsuuni with the third and latest volume shipped on June 28.

A manga adaptation has also been serialized by Eri Haruno in Web Comic Gamma Plus since December 2018, the first volume of which was first published by Takeshobo on June 28.
