We are here! The time has arrived when we witness the slasher anime everyone has been dying to see. With a happy heart, I say the anime didn’t disappoint.
The opening and ending are pretty good. The animation is great, but the CGI is quite underwhelming. The episode’s pacing was good, and with all this, we are on with a great start to this mad journey that’s coming ahead.
The bond between Pochita and Denji was well-established and quite heartwarming. Pochita is a cutie. His sacrifice to ensure Denji fulfills his dream is quite touching as well.

Episode 2 Speculations
Makima showed up just as expected, and she will take things from here and on. Denji will be under her care, and she will use him in devil-hunting jobs.
The first episode adapted all of chapter 1, as speculated. Now it’s time for new characters to show up. Makima will manipulate Denji into becoming her slave.
The episode will feature less chaos and more character development. We will get a deeper look into the world of Chainsaw Man. Not to worry, as the storm is coming up.
Episode 2 Release Date
Episode 2 of the Chainsaw Man anime has been released on Tuesday, Oct 18, 2022. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

Episode 1 Recap
A boy wakes up and goes out to work. He talks to himself about how he has sold one eye, a nut, and a kidney, and even after all that, he still owns a lot of money. Accompanying him is a dog with a chainsaw stuck to his head.
The dog’s name is Pochita, and the boy’s name is Denji. They both are going out to kill a devil. Devil hunting pays a good amount. He slays the Tomato Devil and gets the money for it. The old man’s driver makes fun of Denji by telling him to eat his cigarette for 100 yen. The boy obliges.
He eats bread for breakfast and thinks that normal life is not for him as he will die paying off the debts. He has one dream before dying, and that is to score a girl.
We get a flashback of Denji standing in front of his father’s grave and the old man telling him to pay his father’s debt or he will kill him. Denji finds Pochita, who is wounded. He offers Pochita his blood and deals with him.
He can’t sleep at night and suddenly starts coughing blood. The old man calls him out for work and drives him in his car. The man takes him to an abandoned place.
A sword stabs Denji from behind. The old man tells him that he made a deal with the devil to get some power. The devil he made a deal with is the Zombie Devil. His power turns people into zombies.
The Zombie Devil hates devil hunters. So he is going to kill Denji. His zombies attack Denji. Denji tries to run away but gets sliced and brutally stabbed. He is then thrown in a dumpster.
Some blood from his body drips into Pochita, who wakes up after drinking it. We get a flashback where Denji talks to Pochita about getting killed while fighting a devil.
Denji tells him that if he dies, Pochita should take over his body and live a normal life. Pochita starts connecting all parts of Denji and getting absorbed in his body.
Denji woke up and realized Pochita was taking over his body. Pochita speaks up, saying he will give Denji his heart, and in return, he wants to see Denji fulfill his dreams. He wakes up and finds Pochita’s tail hanging out of his heart.
He shows up in from of Zombie Devil, who sends his men at Denji again. They start to eat Denji, but Denji slices them and rises above them. With a chainsaw’s head and hands turned into chainsaws. He attacks Zombie Devil and brutally kills him.
He goes on to kill each and every zombie. Laughing hysterically over not getting to pay his debts anymore. The next morning, a woman with two men shows up at the place and finds Chainsaw Man will everyone lying around, dead.
The woman approaches him, and he tells her to hug him. She does that, and all the chainsaw melts away. Denji is a little surprised. The woman tells him that she is a devil hunter from Public Safety and gives Denji two options, either die there or go with her and she will make sure to feed him.
He asks her what’s for breakfast.

Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018-2020 and returned in July 2022 with a second part. The series also received an anime series by MAPPA.
The manga’s plot revolves around Denji, an orphaned boy who has to work as a devil hunter to make a living and pay off his father’s debt.
However, his pet devil, Pochita is killed on a mission. Denji wakes up to realize he and Pochita have become a single being, Chainsaw Man. If he does not want to get killed, he has to join the government and continue hunting demons.
