Chainsaw Man Chapter 124: Release Date, Speculations, Read Online

The unknown devil’s identity was revealed in chapter 123 of Chainsaw Man, titled “Hors D’oeuvre.”

It was quite a fun chapter, and I am happy that we have started to get the old Chainsaw Man vibes back. It was short but dark and sad. The new devil turned out to be entirely different from what we expected. 

The flashback of how Asa lost her cat was the highlight of the chapter. Both Denji and Asa seem to have a connection with cats. The situation has gone out of hand, and people are succumbing to negative feelings. It seems like the word “Falling Devil” has many hidden meanings.

Yoru and Asa will try to find a way out in chapter 124 of Chainsaw Man. 

They are now transported to a world filled with nothing but darkness. If Asa loses her grip, she will fall into a mysterious gate, and I think only death awaits at the other side of the gate. 

Since the situation has started to affect many people, it is time before Chainsaw Man shows up to save the day. All he will need to do is to slash up the Falling Devil. However, I think we still have an episode or two before that happens.

The new devil picks up a woman, snaps her head out, and places it on its neck. It reveals itself to be the Falling Devil. She tells Yoru that she will be her chef that night.

Yoru tries to run away from the devil as far as she can. She yells at Asa to snap out of her negative feeling caused by the devil. Asa is the one who makes the stronger weapons out of the two. Thus, only Asa can deal with the situation. 

   

Suddenly, the Falling Devil sends Asa to her past. In the flashback, Asa reads her book with her cat beside her in the orphanage. The orphanage owner comes to her and asks her why she doesn’t give her cat to the owner’s friend, who likes cats.

She sits down to talk with Asa. She tells Asa that the devils killed everyone’s family in the orphanage, and now, they are playing and living with each other, creating a family here. So, it is only right for her cat to be with other cats. 

Later that night, one of the kids tells Asa that he saw a cat similar to hers near the riverside. When she asks the owner, she replies it is unfair that Asa is the only one with a family member. 

Asa gets terrified of the dream, and when she returns to reality, she finds herself hanging upside down against the law of gravity. Suddenly, many people start ‘falling’ up to the sky. 

The Falling Devil claims that the lower the heart sinks, the higher the body falls, which is the concept of her dish Hors D’oeuvre. All of a sudden, Asa is surrounded by complete darkness, and Yoru tells her that she can’t enter her body, but she should not feel afraid. 

7. About Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018-2020 and returned in July 2022 with a second part. The series also received an anime series by MAPPA.

The manga’s plot revolves around Denji, an orphaned boy who has to work as a devil hunter to make a living and pay off his father’s debt.

However, his pet devil, Pochita is killed on a mission. Denji wakes up to realize he and Pochita have become a single being, Chainsaw Man. If he does not want to get killed, he has to join the government and continue hunting demons.
