The manga is back to being gory and disturbing from this chapter. Asa has been receiving good development and is slowly growing as a character with every chapter. And guess what, the War Devil got a new name too.

Asa and Yuko will face the Bat Devil in chapter 102 of Chainsaw Man. We got an interesting revelation in chapter 101 that the War Devil can’t take over Asa’s body when she is stricken by fear. That means Asa will have to face this devil on her own.
This might be a way to get Asa to kill a devil on her own or get some growth. One other thing is for sure, Yuko’s life is in danger. She is under Yoru’s radar, and we can expect her to use Yuko anytime and turn her into a weapon.

Asa thanks Yuko for the shoes she gave her the other day. Yuko asks her whether she wants to go out devil hunting after school. Yuko readily agrees to go.
After school, they sit down together and talk about Yoshida not coming to school. Asa asks Yuko why she wants to do devil hunting. Yuko tells her that it is an easy way to earn a lot of money, and the devils killed her parents, so she somewhat wants to avenge them as well.
Asa tells her that her parents were killed by the devils as well. Yuko tells her that they can become buddies after joining the hunter club. Asa agrees with that. Yuko goes to the washroom, and the War Devil shows up, telling Asa that they should kill Yuko.
Since Asa has grown attached to her, she can become a powerful weapon as they will need a weapon to help them hunt devils. Asa refuses to do that and tells her to start calling her by her name. The War Devil tells her that she also doesn’t call it by its name.
Asa says that calling her “War Devil” feels weird, so the devil tells her to call her Yoru. Yoru is ready to do anything Asa wants until she gets to kill the Chainsaw Man. Asa doesn’t care about any of this because currently, she is having more fun than ever and just wants to enjoy herself.
Out on the streets, a man is giving a speech to a bunch of people about how devils kill seven out of every twenty persons. It is high time that the Japanese people realize they are at war with the devils.
At the same time, Asa and Yuko encounter a devil massacring people, and they freeze at their place. Yoru breaks it to Asa that they can’t defeat the ‘Bat Devil’ in their current state, and also, she can’t take over Asa’s body when Asa is afraid and fearful.
She tells her to slowly and quietly back away, but Asa starts running, catching Bat Devil’s attention. Now, they are chased by the Bat Devil.
6. About Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018-2020 and returned in July 2022 with a second part. The series also received an anime series by MAPPA.
The manga’s plot revolves around Denji, an orphaned boy who has to work as a devil hunter to make a living and pay off his father’s debt.
However, his pet devil, Pochita is killed on a mission. Denji wakes up to realize he and Pochita have become a single being, Chainsaw Man. If he does not want to get killed, he has to join the government and continue hunting demons.
