Asa Mitaka came face to face with the War Devil in chapter 99 of Chainsaw Man titled “Two Birds.”
This episode didn’t get any blood, gore, or violence. It was a rather peaceful episode. The War Devil talked things through with Mitaka, who is surprised to be still alive and reluctant to return to school, but the War Devil forced her to.
Again there was no Denji in this episode, but we do get some new characters (one of them might be an old one). The War Devil will decide their fate, but I think it is too soon to go in that direction as the War Devil has some other plans and is after Chainsaw Man.

1. Chapter 100 Raw Scans, Leaks
Leaks for Chapter 100 of Chainsaw man are finally out. Although the pages are random, Denji can be seen in them. Is it time for Denji to make his debut in part 2 of the manga?
Another panel shows a pair of shoes that have been trashed. These might be Asa’s shoes, indicating that she is getting bullied by her classmates for accidentally killing Bucky. Although it was clearly unintentional, the students might be out to get back at her.
2. Chapter 100 Speculations
Mitaka will go on a mission to hunt a devil with the black-haired boy she met before and a new glasses-wearing girl. This is the trial to get selected for the devil hunter club. Things will get messy again in the next chapter.
However, what is quite annoying is not being able to see Denji for the last two weeks. His entry is very much awaited, and I think Fujimoto might be preparing for some grand entry. I don’t think we will get to see him next week because the next chapter will focus on the devil hunt.
This event will be exciting in itself. Knowing that there is the War Devil and a previous devil hunter in the same group, we can’t expect things to go normally. The glasses-wearing girl might turn out to be another devil in disguise. Who knows?

Asa Mitaka wakes up in her room and is surprised to see herself alive. Next to her is sitting the War Devil. Mitaka thinks it is all a dream, but the War Devil reassures her that it is not a dream. It immediately tells her to go to school; if she disobeys, it will kill her.
The War Devil tells her about the killing they did last night. It’s in the news. Mitaka finds out that the devil is just a hallucination in her head. It tells Mitaka that it has taken control of her body and that the War Devil has claimed her body.
Mitaka asks about her body still moving. The War Devil tells her that it kept half her brain intact as it doesn’t know anything about human society. The War Devil wants to go to Mitaka’s school because it found that Chainsaw man goes to that school anonymously.
On reaching there, Mitaka stops as she doesn’t want to go in. She is scared to go to school after all that has happened. The War Devil warns her again about getting killed. She doesn’t care about that.
A boy suddenly shows up, offering to take Mitaka to the nurse’s room. He is Hirofumi Yoshida, although his name is not revealed in the chapter. War Devil tells her to ask him about Chainsaw man. She declines, so it takes control of her body and asks him about it.
He tells them that he is new to this school and he has heard that Chainsaw Man might be in the devil hunter club. After pausing for a second, the War Devil offers the boy to be her boyfriend. He declines and walks away.
The War Devil reveals that it can make a weapon out of anyone or anything that belongs to it. It wants to make a massive army out of humans to go to war against Chainsaw Man.
They enter the devil hunter club, where new students are given a task to hunt a devil and show it to them. Only those who achieve this can join the club. Mitaka gets paired with a glass-wearing girl and Hirofumi Yoshida.
6. About Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018-2020 and returned in July 2022 with a second part. The series also received an anime series by MAPPA.
The manga’s plot revolves around Denji, an orphaned boy who has to work as a devil hunter to make a living and pay off his father’s debt.
However, his pet devil, Pochita is killed on a mission. Denji wakes up to realize he and Pochita have become a single being, Chainsaw Man. If he does not want to get killed, he has to join the government and continue hunting demons.
