The novel will have an original story that is not a part of the manga. It will feature Denji and Power, Kishibe and Quanxi when they were partners, and Aki and Himeno when they first met.

Power and Denji were not together for long, but the Blood Fiend considered the hybrid chainsaw devil one of her true friends.

Moreover, everyone has been too curious about Kishibe and Quanxi’s partner era. We’ll finally be able to witness two of the strongest characters of the show working as a team.

Aki and Himeno’s bond is probably the purest and most wholesome one in the show. Their early days of teaming up and Himeno mentoring Aki is something I’m looking forward to.

Buddy Stories as a title sounds ironic given the main storyline, but we’re not complaining. I think the franchise is trying to make up for the deaths and trauma we faced as fans.

One thing is for sure, none of our favorites will face a horrible death in this one, hopefully. While we’re at it, let’s hope we get more of Pochita and Denji, too, in this upcoming novel.
