In episode 2 of “Chained Soldier”, after getting appointed as the caretaker of the seventh division dorms, Yuuki soon gets bored from being unable to fight. Still, he continues to abide by the commander’s order. One day, he accidentally happens to catch a glimpse of Himari in the open bath. Shushu, who was observing him all this time catches him in the act and takes a picture.
She uses the picture to blackmail him into doing various stuff for her. One day, when these two were left alone in a dorm, a massive Shuuki attacked. The two heroes manage to defeat it somehow, but Shushu gets a scolding from Kyouka for underestimating the enemy. We also see what this show’s first spark of romance might be.

2. Episode 3 Speculation
We might see the start of the romance element in this show soon enough. Near the end of episode 2, she immediately agrees after Shushu is instructed to help Yuuki with the housework. Right after this, we see a shot of her where she blushes and says, “I won’t give you up, Yuuki”. This might be a pointer to her developing romantic feelings for him.
A massive twist will also be coming to the show in the near future, but whether that will be in the next episode or not is still unknown. We see a mysterious woman right before episode 2 ends. She seemed to be instructing the shuukis and, at a glance, looked insanely strong. She could feel Yuuki’s presence in Mato and even called him out by his name. This raises suspicion that this may be his supposedly dead sister. We can only wait for the truth to be revealed.
3. Recap of Episode 2
Yuuki Wakura, our wannabe hero, has been appointed as the caretaker of the seventh-division dorm. Now, his duties include taking care of the whole place. Himari is still not very fond of having a man in an all-girls dorm, but Yuuki is doing his job excellently.
One day, while cleaning the bridge outside the main building, a shuuki suddenly jumped at Yuuki, but as he was inside the barrier, it didn’t reach him. He was starting to get a bit bored from this new life due to not going on any missions he had hoped for.
Later, while cleaning the watchtower at night, he accidentally gets a look at the open bath nearby just as Himari enters there. As if fate is playing with him, Shushu happens to catch him in the act. She takes a picture of him and uses it to blackmail him into being her slave.
A few days later, Yuuki and Shushu were the only ones in the dorm since Kyouka, Himari, and Nei had to leave for a meeting. Before leaving, Nei assured Yuuki that Shushu was a very nice person. After the “incidents”, Yuuki is clearly afraid to be left alone with this demon queen.
After the others left, Shushu once again blackmailed Yuuki into giving her a massage and then playing video games with her. When they were playing games, though, the two of them suddenly felt a shockwave. They ran outside only to see an unnaturally massive shuuki trying to break the barrier.
Shushu used her powers to grow bigger and started fighting the beast. It seemed to end in their victory as she completely dominated the monster, but fate had other plans. The shuuki wasn’t alone, and another one appeared right behind Shushu.
Shushu, who was too exhausted from using her gigantification, started losing ground in the fight. Seeing the desperate situation, Yuuki understood he had to transform, but with Kyouka absent, that was impossible. He deduced that if he transformed from licking her finger, something related to her should also work.
He ran back inside the building and grabbed Kyouka’s gloves. It did trigger the transformation, but it didn’t actually happen. As a last resort, Yuuki grabbed her boots for a stronger reaction. Licking them transformed him halfway, but that was just the thing they needed at that moment. Shushu held the beast, and Yuuki dealt the final blow.
Once Kyouka and the others returned to the dorm, Kyouka told Shushu to help Yuuki with housework as an act of gratitude. She also told her not to take the enemy lightly and fight battles she can’t win. Shushu quietly listened to all this and agreed.

Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) is a manga series by Takahiro and illustrated by Yohei Takemura.
Mysterious entrances to the ‘Mato’ dimension appeared, threatning humans by the arrival of monsters called Shuuki. Hope came in the form of Mato fruit that gave superpowers to women who formed a matriarchal government, throwing men at the bottom of the social ladder.
During such times, the protagonist Yuuki met Kyouka, chief of the Anti-Demon Corps’ Seventh squad who made him his slave.
