One Piece manga is currently in its final saga, and with each chapter, the excitement and curiosity of the fandom hits the stars and beyond.
We are at the climax of the Egghead Island Arc, and the fight that we have been waiting for has finally begun, Luffy vs Kizaru. We all know what happened at Sabaody Archipelago Arc, so what will happen this time?
This time, Luffy will defeat Kizaru now that he has truly awakened his devil fruit and activated Gear 5, the coolest power-up and the one that broke the internet upon being animated.
The showdown between Luffy and Kizaru has begun in chapter 1093 of the manga.
This is the first time that Luffy would be taking on an admiral head-on. Fortunately, this time, he is much stronger.
Can Luffy beat kizaru with Gear 5?
Yes, Luffy can beat Borsalino, aka Kizaru, now that he has truly awakened his devil fruit and activated Gear 5. Let me dive right into some details to show you how Luffy will triumph over Kizaru.
The most anticipated clash has already begun in chapter 1092 titled “titled “Kuma the Tyrant’s Holy Land Rampage.”
Initially, Luffy is in his Gear 4 Sankeman form, trying to fend off Kizaru. Kizaru commends the fact that Luffy has grown much stronger since he defeated the kaido, the world’s strongest creature.
After a small exchange of words, Kizaru suddenly retreats but comes back at the speed of light and kicks Luffy so hard that he is sent flying off into Vegaforce-01, Utterly obliterating it and propelling him into the barrier surrounding the Frontier Dome.
Then, through the control room’s roof, Luffy’s ginormous hand appears and seizes Kizaru. This appalls everyone, and with the drums of liberation, an ancient robot also woke up.
This is where we are currently. Let me dive into some points to show how Luffy can defeat Kizaru.
1. Speed
Regarding speed, we gotta admit that Kizaru is the fastest in the realm of One Piece. Even though Luffy gains some staggering speed when he transforms into Gear 4 and 5, it is not up to Kizaru’s level.
After all, Kizaru ate the “Pika Pika no Mi” Devil Fruit, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to create, control, and transform into light.
So obviously, he is as fast as the speed of light, which is 299 792 458 m/sec or 300,000 km/sec, let that sink in.
It can be backed by the fact that Kizaru effortlessly caught up to the worst generation and the Straw harts and wreaked havoc and destruction.
Kizaru takes the win on this point.

2. Haki
Kizaru is known to be an Armament and Observation Haki user. He used these in the Marineford arc and displayed how well he could wield them.
It’s not been confirmed or witnessed that he has the conquers haki, so that’s out of the game.
He even blocked an attack by Whitebeard aimed at the gallows Ace was on, along with two other admirals.
It’s a commendable feat, as few users can strike the target without direct contact.
On the other hand, Luffy is a proficient user of all three Haki’s. Let’s not forget that the conquers haki is one of the rarest powers in One Piece.
Imagine that coupled with Gear 5. It’s gonna be an engaging spectacle for sure.
Currently, Luffy Conqueror’s Haki rivals Kaido’s, his Observation Haki matches that of Katakuri, and his Conqueror’s Haki seems to surpass everyone, if not Shanks.
Concerning Haki, Luffy obviously surpasses Kizaru.

3. Battle Tactics
When we get down to the battlefield, you gotta have some brains cause all that muscle and brute strength isn’t going to save you every time.
Luffy takes the lead on Battle IQ/tactics as he has proven time and time again his skill of thinking faster than you wifi to come up with the best strategies for winning.
He has that skill of thinking in the heat of the moment, which is something that I really lack, man.
Also, this doesnt undermine the fact that Kiazru is also an astute admiral, but as far as we have seen, Luffy is much better at devising those plans.
Luffy takes another win on this point.

4. Destruction
When we delve into the destructive capabilities of these two, Kizaru tops it off as his devil fruit allows him to cause a lot of destruction.
Kizaru’s light-based attacks can pierce through objects and opponents like knives, slicing through butter and causing destruction all around him.
His destructive abilities were best displayed in the Marineford arc, where he clashed with Marco and Whitebeard.
He can emit light fares to blind his opponents and make an opening since he can move at the speed of light, which makes it really hard for his opponents to evade him and his attacks.
On the flip side, Luffy is like an elastic rubber band that can deal with any sort of damage and propel attacks. However, he isn’t that destructive when we compare him to Kizaru.
In terms of causing destruction, Kizaru takes a win.

Seems like they are both at a tie, but wait, there’s more. The best part is up next.
5. Devil fruit
Kizaru ate the Logia-type Pika Pika no Mi devil fruit, which gave him all those cool light-related properties I discussed above.
Meanwhile, Luffy ingested the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika devil fruit, which was believed to be the Gomu Gomu Devil Fruit, which granted him those rubber-like properties that remind me of the Incredibles Elastigirl.
When we look at it plainly, Kizaru’s devil fruit overpowers Luffy’s. However, now that Luffy’s devil fruit has truly awoken, he has surpassed Kizau’s devil fruit powers, which must be like a mere spec of light Luffy now.
With Gear 5, Luffy transforms into a literal God, and his heartbeat is referred to as the “Drums of Liberation.” He is the Joy boy.
For the devil fruits, the ball is in Luffy’s court.
However, one thing to remember is that we aren’t sure whether Kizaru’s devil fruit has been awakened or not.
Maybe things might take a steep turn, and Kizaru’s devil fruit may truly awaken, which adds more spice to the battle and will truly depict the strength and battle prowess of both Luffy and Kizaru.
