Campfire Cooking Anime 2nd Trailer Reveals More Cast And Theme Songs

On December 26, the official Twitter account for the television anime adaptation of Ren Eguchi and illustrator Masa’s Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill light novel series released a second trailer for the anime.

The trailer reveals additional cast members and previews the show’s opening and closing theme songs.

The anime is set to premiere in Japan exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and Hikari TV on January 10. It will later air on TV Tokyo and other Japanese channels on January 11.

The anime stars Yuma Uchida as Mukouda Tsuyoshi, Satoshi Hino as Fel, Hina Kino as Sui, Maaya Uchida as Ninrir, Yo Taichi as Agni, Yuko Kaida as Kishar, and Saho Shirasu as Rusalka.   

The opening theme song of the show “Zeitaku na Saji” will be performed by the group Van de Shop. Yūma Uchida will perform the anime’s ending theme song titled “Happy-go-Journey.”

The anime’s plot revolves around Mukouda Tsuyoshi, who is an ordinary man in modern Japan. One day, he is summoned to another world of swordplay and sorcery and thinks he s in for an adventure of a lifetime.

However, he soon realises the kingdom summoned him by mistake and they find his skills and talents laughable. He then tries to navigate this new world and live a simple life with only one magical skill at his disposal: the “Online Supermarket,” a skill that allows him to buy modern goods in a fantasy world.

The story then follows him as he goes around this fantasy world and makes delicious modern food for his customers.

The anime is directed by Kiyoshi Matsuda at MAPPAMichiko Yokote is overseeing the series scripts, and Nao Ōtsu is adapting Masa‘s original character designs for animation. Masato Kōda, Kana Utatade, and Kuricorder Quartet are composing the music.

“Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill” is a light novel series by Ren Eguchi. Initially published on Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2016, Overlap acquired it and has been publishing it since November 2016, with illustrations by Masa.

Tsuyoshi Mukoda gets transported to another world where he is supposed to save the kingdom. However, his only skill is “Online Grocery” which allows him to bring food items from modern Japan. Initially disappointed, Tsuyoshi’s skill rewards him in ways he did not expect.

It is now getting an anime adaptation in January 2023.
