Call of the Night Episode 4: Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Episode 3 of Call of the Night is titled “A Lot Came Out.” After a long time, Kou can finally talk with his childhood friend Asai Akira.

It is apparent right away that they are in love, but when Nazuna finds out that Kou is meeting her every morning early, she introduces herself to Akira in a dramatic manner.

Episode 4 Speculation

It is evident from Nazuna’s behavior that she has developed affection toward Kou. When Akira met Kou, she was jealous and decided to show up dramatically.

She claims to have been in a physical relationship with Kou before meeting her because of her unusual behavior towards Akira, who makes her envious.

When Nazuna runs away from Akira, she says she misses him at school, indicating she is uncomfortable with what is happening. If she started liking Kou, all of this would make sense. Seeing how her friendship with Kou develops will be interesting.

Episode 3 Recap

Kou asks Nazuna whether he has a friend one night as they sit on the top of a high-rise building. She is surprised to discover that Kou doesn’t even understand when people who are friends can be called friends.

So Nazuna concludes that he probably has not made a friend in his entire life, explaining his aloof and introverted nature.

After spending the entire night roaming around the city with Nazuna, Kou suddenly recalls those memories of being called from behind by Akira, his childhood friend.

She wears the transceiver that he once left in his apartment complex in hopes of making friends. But, according to Akira, he gave it to her. Akira was unaware that Kou had left the transceiver in her mailbox without realizing it was hers. It wasn’t his intention to give it to her, as she had seen him leave it behind.

Nonetheless, he didn’t tell her the truth. Akira recalled observing the ants all by herself and approached him while he was watching them.

The two kids became friends on that playground day, even though they hadn’t been in touch for quite a while and they live in the same complex.

Wearing the school dress, Akira likes to get up early in the morning and go for long walks. After that, they decided to meet every day in the morning. Kou contacts Nazuna via the transceiver as soon as he is alone to let her know he has a friend.

After they have spent the night in the apartment, as usual, Nazuna and Kou spend the night in the apartment. Nazuna, however, argues that they still have a lot of time when Kou is about to leave.

She is shocked to learn that Kou will meet his friend early. As Nazuna and Kou talk about mundane affairs in the park, she hides behind a tree and observes them from the other end.

Nazuna walks toward them, looking quite pissed even though he does not expect it. In the end, Kou takes a sigh of relief when she just casually jokes about them having an affair.

Meanwhile, Akira has no idea what is going on. Nazuna does not hide her relationship with Kou, telling her they are just friends. No matter how panicked Kou is, nothing could have prepared him for what she does next.

Nazuna decides to talk to Kou and Akira after spying on them for a while, and he is uncomfortably honest about his relationship with Kou. Nazuna does not stop at telling Akira that they have a physical affair as of now.

She embraces Kou in front of his friend, and she drinks his blood without hesitation. After a moment of shock, Akira tries to gather her thoughts. Akira knows Nazuna is a vampire when she sees the teeth marks on his neck.

Nazuna confirms Akira’s suspicions when they finally introduce themselves. Kou is arguing that she feels better when he is around, so Akira asks him to come to school again, while Nazuna stares blankly at the two friends.

She leaves without explanation because something bothers her at that moment. After handing over the bill money to Akira, Kou runs after her. The sad truth is that Nazuna doesn’t seem interested in speaking with him. Kou searches everywhere for her while she flies off.

While climbing some stairs, he trips and damages his mouth. Kou receives a call from Nazuna on the transceiver, and she appears moments later. Even though he hasn’t done anything wrong, Kou nonetheless apologizes to her, knowing she is angry.

To drink the blood from his mouth, Nazuna kisses him and reassures him that everything will be alright between them.

The fact that Nazuna misdirects Kou is quite apparent, even though she does a great job. She claims to be in a personal relationship with Kou even before introducing herself to her, based on her strange behavior in front of Akira, who makes her jealous.

Nazuna also runs away after Akira admits she misses him at school, which indicates that the situation was uncomfortable for her. She is probably starting to feel for Kou due to all of this. The development of her relationship with Kou will be interesting to watch.

About Call of the Night

Call of the Night manga by Kotoyama was first published in the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2019. The series will receive an anime adaptation in July 2022.

The series’ plot focuses on Ko Yamori, a human, and Nazuna, a laid-back and free-spirited vampire. After Ko discovers Nazuna’s nature, he wants to become a vampire too.

Yet, the only way to turn into a vampire is by falling in love with one.
