During the last battle where Atsushi grabbed Sigma’s hand, he had given him a message moments before he fell to his apparent death. He now remembered the location of the missing page in possession of Kamui. The leader himself is now at Kunikida’s door and sends a smoke bomb inside.

Atsushi finally pieces together all the dots and realizes that the Decay of Angels’ next plan is the assassination of every Detective Agency member one by one. The most vital member of the Agency is still free to move, though, and he swiftly takes over Kamui’s assassination plot and even manages to extract the boss.

Rampo was surrounded by the police and enemies left and right, but he escaped and attacked at the most vital moment by rewriting history and saving all the targeted members.
