Destiny 2 developers Bungie outline changes coming in the latest update

Bungie has revealed the changes coming to the upcoming Season 21 of Destiny 2. This includes several exotic weapons being rebalanced.

The latest update by Bungie for Destiny 2 is more focused on PvE changes. There are 17 Exotic Weapon updates, weapon reticle updates, experimental ADS reticle on Shayura’s Wrath, inspection screen improvement, and full auto-melee options amidst many other changes.

The developers in the blog mentioned that they had paid close attention to the player feedback around how reticles were less useful at high field-of-view settings, and this is information that isn’t apparent mid-combat.

The update seeks to change the static reticles, making them dynamic, moving more visibly at high FOV whilst maintaining accuracy about the current state of the weapon. The applicable weapons are Fusion Rifles, Hand Cannons, Sidearm Trace Rifle, and shotguns.

The Fusion rifles also have a charge meter under the reticle, and sword reticles will now show the current Sword Guard energy.

Shayura’s Wrath will be equipped with an experimental feature, enabling an aim-down-the-sights reticle, reacting to the weapon’s accuracy and auto-aim state, tying into the red reticle, and allowing for enemy detection when in range.

Coming to exotic weapons, a bunch of new changes are underway. Killing four targets with a missile volley of the Adaptive Ordnance Exotic trait for Eyes of Tomorrow will refund one ammo.

Damage stats have been balanced for weapons, including Graviton’s Lance, Jade Rabbit, Lumina’s Cap, Heartshadow, Worldline Zero, Tommy’s Matchbook, and many other exotic weapons.

The Fragile Focus perk deactivator was very unforgiving. So, the Bonus lasts until the shield pops and returns when the shield regenerates to 100%. Thresh, Demolitionist, and Pugilist are being granted increased energy to Glaive projectile skills.

Shoot to loot has also been modified, wherein it has been updated to pick up Orbs of Power, and as of now, it only works on direct hits.

It has been mentioned that the ability to pick up orbs with a weapon detonation will be added in a future patch.

The developers have also mentioned that depending on the weapon’s standard zoom value, the damage falloff has either been buffed or nerfed.

They promised a big Sword update in the coming patch – “with the goal of making guarding substantially more valuable.” In a distant future patch, they will work on an update to Sparrow allowing players to use their favorites instead of Always on Time.
