On April 9, the K-pop supergroup BTS broke a Guinness World Record set by themselves. The group won the award for Favorite Music Group at the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards for the third time in a row, making it their sixth one at the Kids’ Choice Awards.
With six Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA) trophies in their kitty, BTS has become the music group with the most Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards won by a music group.
As the septet is currently touring the U.S. for Permission to Dance on Stage – Las Vegas, the members did not attend the ceremony but sent in an acceptance video.
In the video, BTS’ leader, RM, said,
“Thank you, KCA [Kids’ Choice Awards] and ARMY [BTS’s fandom], for the Favorite Music Group award. We’re honored and so grateful to receive the award.”

Jimin, SUGA, Jungkook, and V chimed in, too, thanking their fans and promising greater performances in the future.
The K-pop septet first broke the record last year when they earned a total of three trophies, tying with group Fifth Harmony for the same Guinness World Record.
The group won Favorite Global Music Star, Favorite Music Group, and Favorite Song with Butter.
BTS won their first Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards trophy back in 2018 with a Favorite Global Music Star trophy. In 2020, they won Favorite Music Group, which marked the beginning of their consecutive wins at the award show.
Apart from the Guinness World Records, the group is also changing the global music industry scenario. With its “urban concert playpark” concept, BTS has transformed Las Vegas into a Purple city
Permission to Dance on Stage – THE CITY offers fans experiences beyond just the concert, with multiple after-concert parties, themed hotel room stay and food in collaboration with MGM Resorts International, a Bellagio Fountains show, and many other things.
