3. Episode 19 Recap

Barou, Nagi, and Isagi talk about who they should choose for their team and choose  Hyoma Chigiri and move to the next round. Chigiri bid Kunigami farewell and Nagi then commended Reo. Reo wanted to play with Nagi, not receive praise from him. As a result, Nagi changed how he felt about him and began referring to his friend as a problem.

Kunigami and Reo returned to the second stage as Isagi’s team moved on to the fourth stage. Nagi and Chigiri became closer in their cabin as Barou and Isagi talked about their objectives, ambitions, and playing styles. The clutter in their room had worsened by the time Isagi and Barou arrived back from dinner because Chigiri and Nagi had started playing a game instead of tidying up.

While Itoshi and Bachira were shown practicing, the episode turned its attention to Bachira. Yet, Itoshi thought that because Bachira’s objectives need to be aligned, he wasn’t achieving his full potential. Once spectators realized how much Bachira loved football, especially dribbling, his past became clear. His mother instructed him to picture a monster who was his friend because he was outpacing his teammates.

Bachira then started looking for someone who could play as his monster could. He searched for a while, but couldn’t find anyone, so he started to think he was strange. Eventually, he had the chance to meet Isagi, a player who represented the monster in Bachira’s image, when he joined Blue Lock.

Isagi was waiting outside for Bachira and Itoshi as they stepped off the training field in the present. In the fourth stage, he challenged Rin to a game since he was there to earn Bachira back. Kuon, Imamura, and Iemon team up.

5. About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.

Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.

Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
