In episode 7 of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, titled “Born in the Dark,” we could finally witness the war between Quincies and Thirteen Court Guard Squads. The brutality by which they exterminated the Quincies was exhilarating. Saskibe played a vital role in defeating Yhwach 1000 years ago.
In the present, Yhwach slices Yamamoto into two parts. Ichigo manages to break out of Opie’s jail. He meets Byakuya, who asks him to save the Soul Society. Ichigo fights Yhwach but is unable to defeat him. Yhwach returns while addressing Ichigo as “my son, born in the dark.”

Episode 8 Speculation
Episode 8 is titled ‘The Shooting Star Project (Zero Mix).’
Byakuya is severely injured and almost on the verge of death. Feeling helpless and ashamed, he asks Ichigo, a human, to save the Soul Society. Does that mean he is going to succumb to his injuries?
Now that Yamamoto is dead, the Soul Society will be a mess after such a dangerous invasion that caused many casualties and destruction. We are yet to know the condition of other soul reapers and their captains.
Yhwach addressed Ichigo as his son born in the dark. He also mentioned Ichigo’s mother. We are curious about Ichigo’s origin and background. Is Ichigo Yhwach’s son for real? Is Ichigo’s mother a Quincy?

Recap of Episode 7
We are finally blessed with the flashback of the adamant battle between the Quincies and the original Thirteen Court Guard Squads that occurred 1000 years ago. The Quincies were killed ruthlessly by them, with heaps of dead bodies piled up.
Sasakibe pierced his blade through Yhwach from behind while Yamamoto proceeded to land a final blow on Yhwach.
Coming to the present, Yhwach brutally kills Yamamoto, splitting his body. Yamamoto didn’t want to exploit humans, which is why he never asked Inoue to regenerate his arm and did not want to involve Ichigo during a fight with Aizen.
Back then, The Thirteen Court Guard Squads, led by Yamamoto, were ruthless killers, as we already saw.
After Quincy’s extermination, Yamamoto changed and became more soft-hearted. Hence, Yhwach had removed Yamamoto from the five Special Threats prior to their invasion.
Yhwach orders Haschwalt to inform every Stern Ritter to destroy the Soul Society. Just then, Ichigo manages to break from Opie’s Jail and return to the Soul Society. He attacks Shaz Domino, who has injured Akon.
After taking Akon to a safe place, Ichigo meets Byakuya, who asks him if Rukia and Renji are alive. Byakuya is ashamed of himself for the fact that he is asking a favor from Ichigo, who is a human and someone not even supposed to be in the Soul Society in the first place.
Ichigo stops Yhwach from returning to Wanderweich. Ichigo beaming with power and rage, fights Yhwach only to be knocked down on the ground. Yhwach is shocked that Ichigo uses Getsuga Tensho even after that. Yhwach aims for Ichigo’s neck with his sword, surprised to see Blut Vene appearing on his neck.
Yhwach realizes it was a mistake to use a Quincy to stop Ichigo, while he should have used Arrancar. The memories within Ichigo’s Spiritual Pressure have awakened.
When he continuously released his spiritual pressure to break Opie’s jail, his Spiritual Pressure got mixed with Opie’s Spiritual Pressure. Opie’s prison cannot keep Quincies inside, which explains why Ichigo could escape.
As Yhwach decides to end Ichigo, he is forced to return to Wandenreich along with the Quincies. Ichigo proceeds to attack him, only for his sword to be cut down by Haschwalt. While returning, Yhwach addresses Ichigo as “My son, born in the dark.”
