Kelvin challenged Cashel to defeat Blackghost Knight in episode 2 of Black Summoner titled “Dark Knight.”
As expected from an isekai protagonist, Kelvin easily defeated Cashel, including his party. It wasn’t a big job for him. He is quickly rising up the ranks and will be on top in no time.
Kelvin’s fight with the Blackghost Knight was about to begin, but a sudden wholesome twist took place, and their battle was delayed. We also got some CGI for the Blackghost Knight and action scenes. However, it wasn’t that bad, but I don’t think anime watchers are going to tolerate CGI characters.

Episode 3 Speculations
The old man’s identity will be revealed in episode 3 of Black Summoner. It might be possible that the old man is the guild’s head. He must be powerful and looks quite impressed by Kelvin.
Things are looking easy for Kelvin, and I don’t think he is going to face any significant problems anytime soon. After all, he is an isekai protagonist. I hope things get a little challenging for him sooner than later.

Episode 2 Recap
Kelvin is back from his adventure and has increased his rank. His quick increase in levels has raised many eyebrows. Ange is happy to see his growth and talks to him about the Blackghost Knight.
Cashel shows up and starts talking to Kelvin and Ange. Everybody knows the man is a cheater and hides his stats to trick others. Kelvin challenges Cashel to defeat the blackghost before him. Cashel is shocked to see Kelvin ready to go alone while he goes with his party.
Cashel’s party members Raj and Gimul are ready to crush the newbie. At night, when they enter the castle of the Blackghost Knight, they find the undead monsters already defeated.
Kelvin shows up in front of them, telling them that the Blackghost Knight is behind the other door. He knows that they are after him and not the blackghost. They attack him, Raj being the first. He easily defeats him.
Gimul tries to run away, but Clotho stops him midway and is in a different form. It is revealed that he has evolved into Slime Gluttonia. He throws away Gimul. Cashel attacks Kelvin but is defeated without breaking a sweat.
Kelvin now moves on to defeat the famous Blackghost Knight. The Blackghost Knight is already in battle mode. Kelvin, too gets ready to fight him but not before talking with him about something.
This unexpectedly works in Kelvin’s favor as the blackghost sits down and begins talking with him. He is happy to have someone to talk to after a very long time. He even offers candy to Kelvin.
Kelvin talks to him about the contract to be his servant. It is obvious he won’t join without a fight. They begin fighting and share heavy blows. He proves to be a tough opponent for Kelvin as he refuses to go down easily.
We get into Blackghost Knight’s backstory, where he slowly lost everything and everyone dear to him and since then has been alone. Kelvin manages to defeat him with the help of Clotho.
Everyone back in the town is happy to get rid of Cashel and to know that the blackghost was defeated. Ange informs Kelvin that his rank has increased, and he is being invited personally by the head of the guild.
As he starts going to meet the head, he sees an old man by the stairs looking outside of a window.

Black Summoner is a novel by Doufu Mayoi that began publication in 2014. It also has a manga adaptation that started serialization in 2018.
