3. Recap of Episode 144
Episode 144, titled “Those Who Wish for the Devil’s Demise”, begins with captain Yami and Finral asking Dazu for the whereabouts of Marie and Nero. She claimed to know nothing about them and blamed the magic knights for not saving the people of her town. Yami apologizes and they continue their search.
Nozel and Noelle in another part of the town, realize that the people are averse to talk with the Magic Knights as they failed to protect their town. Gordon and Gauche in other parts of town have no luck finding out anything either. Meanwhile, the Devil Banishers were under a basement with Nero and Marie planning how to execute them.
Captain Yami along with everyone else return back as they weren’t able to find anything. They see that Asta is also awake again. Later, all the captains of the Magic Knights along with Julius and Damnatio have a meeting regarding the Devil Banishers. Damnatio suspects Kabwe being one of the people behind this as he was extremely angry about the postponement of Asta and Marie’s execution.
At the end of the episode, Julius says that we already have to prepare to fight against a kingdom outside and can not afford a conflict within the nation. He asks everyone to proceed with caution. Later, on a wall of Lehart city, there was a huge message painted which said that two servants will be executed in the afternoon!
