Black Clover manga is currently in the Spade Kingdom arc and it looks like Tabtata’s cards for a big showdown are set, and all his pawns are where he wants them to be.
In the previous chapter, Black Clover 257, Dante revealed unraveled some mysterious about his magic – he is not a gravity magic user but a body magic user.
Hence, the healing magic that he has been using is his own and his devil, Lucifero’s magic, is Gravity.
I have some speculations, and expected plots, including the raw scans and spoilers for the next one (chapter 258) that you guys would definitely want to know!
1. Chapter 258 Speculations & Predictions
The ending of chapter 257 left us with goosebumps for sure – Asta and Yami standing alongside ready to fight.
Now, there are a few events that would most definitely happen in the chapter 258. Let’s begin the discussion then starting from the event with the maximum possibility.
I. Yami and Asta vs. Dante
Chapter 257 put the discussion of who’s strangest between Yami and Dante to rest.
It’s Yami Sukehiro. Yes, Yami is definitely stronger than Dante in combat, however with Dante and Lucifero combined, the situation changes.
While Yami is stronger in strength and endurance compared to Dante x Lucifer – it’s unlikely that he can keep up with Devil’s unending mana in cahoots with Dante’s disgusting body magic.
One thing that is certain is that the next chapter is going to be one of the best Black Clover chapters. Why? Because, there are so many similarities between Yami and Asta that seeing them fight together is a dream come true. Some of those similarities are:
- Both Yami and Asta use katana and sword respectively.
- Both Yami and Asta are arcane stages and are the only Magic Knights whose magic can affect otherworldly beings.
- Yami is physically strongest in Black Clover followed by Asta – both of them believe in muscle power.
- Yami and Asta are the only known users who have beast-like instincts with the use of Ki.
II. Noelle & Heart Kingdom
The entirety of Black Clover fandom definitely wants to see what will happen in the Heart Kingdom. Will the most prosperous and secluded kingdom be destroyed and that too by the hands of a devil host?
Well, that does seem pretty unlikely in a Tabata-universe. This means there might be a way for Noelle, Luck, Mimosa, Gaja and the other mages in the Heart Kingdom to stop Vanica’s magic, ‘The Exploding Life,’ from blowing up.
Even though it’s pretty obvious, how they are going to pull it off will be definitely worth reading.
III. Vice-Captain of Black Bulls
In the beginning of Black Clover manga, Yami and the others did tell Asta that there are more Black Bulls members that are either on missions or somewhere else.
That ‘secret silhoutte‘ has been speculated to be none other than the vice-captain of the Black Bulls magic knight squad.
This theory has only gotten more realistic since the appearance of a mysterious Black Bulls spy with Shadow magic in the Spade Kingdom.
If that ain’t the vice-captain of Kuro no Bogyu I don’t know what’s true anymore!

2. Chapter 256 Raw Scans, Leaks
Raw scans for Chapter 258 of the Black Clover manga came out recently. The rough translations go like this:
Black Clover 258 will be roughly titled, “Black Offering.” Dante has transformed into a huge giant using his Body magic and Lucifero’s mana.
Asta and Yami begins to prepare for a counter attack – Asta meets the Anti-magic devil in his sub-conscious.
Asta and Anti-Magic Devil just had a Naruto-Kurama moment!
The Anti-magic devil supplies Asta the power he needs and the counterattack begins!
Rough Translation:
- Black Clover 258 will be titled, “Black Offering.”
- The chapter begins with Dante’s gigantic form while Asta and Yami are ready to attack.
- Both of them outmatch the humongous monster in both speed and power.
- We see Asta having a conversation with the Anti-magic devil about lending true devil powers to the former.
3. Chapter 258 Release Date
Chapter 258 of the Black Clover manga will be released on Sunday, July 19, 9:30 am PDT. Black Clover 258 will be titled, “Black Offering.”
In the next chapter, we will see the captain-knight duo of Yami and Asta fighting together – both are swordsman and outsiders! It will be itneresting to see how Tabata draws chapter 258.
4. Is Black Clover on a Break?
Black Clover manga is published under Shonen Jump magazine, which is a weekly magazine that comes out every Sunday.
Chapter 258 of the Black Clover manga is not on a break this week. It will continue in the next issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump on Sunday, July 19, 9:30 am PDT.

6. Chapter 257 Recap
Black Clover chapter 257 starts with the final panel of its previous chapter. Yami has used his spell – Death Thrust – which resulted in a huge hole in Dante’s chest. However, to everyone’s surprise, Dante is still alive.
Dante explains that his original magic is Body magic which, when combined with Lucifero’s gravity magic, gives him this abnormally strong and unending healing prowess.
Dante explains that he never liked using his magic because it’s ugly, plus it is a sign of Dante being pushed to the extent that he just has to use it.
The Spade King uses his body magic to transform into a giant – little did he know – Yami Sukehiro is YAMI SUKEHIRO! Yami uses Death Thrust again, blowing away more than half of Giant Dante’s body.
Dante then resurrects again and manages to hit Yami a few times. He explains to Yami that the world isn’t fair, and the latter will not be able to beat Dante alone based on the odds.
To this, Yami replies with a question, “Who do you think is alone?”
The Captain of Black Bulls then orders/asks Asta to stand up as his captain needs his help – Asta, like a true Magic Knight, gets up, unsheaths his sword and stands alongside Yami, ready to roll!

Black Clover is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 16, 2015.
The story centers around Asta, a young boy seemingly born without any magic power, something that is unknown in the world he lives in. With his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King.
