Everything You Need to Know about Billions S7 & Its Spin-Offs

If you’re thinking it’s been way too long without a new season of Billions, I’m right there with you in that sentiment. Billions S6 aired on Showtime last January, carrying on heroically without its ambassador Bobby Axelrod. Indeed, Chuck and Prince’s showdown gave us enough drama to not miss Axe all that much!

But a year has gone by since S6’s release and we can’t help but itch for the new chapter. In wake of this, here’s everything you need to know about Billions S7 and its upcoming spin-offs:

When will Billions S7 be released?

As of yet, Billions S7 does not have a release date. However, it is expected to release in early 2023.

I know, I know — We’re already in February 2023 and there’s not a squeak about Billions S7! As per its previous schedules, Billions has always released seasons in either January, February, or March, so it does seem to be running a little late.

However, do rest assured that the show had started filming season 7 in October 2022 itself, so the new season is definitely underway. Expect a date announcement soon!

What will Billions S7 be about?

Billions S7 will continue to build the animosity between Chuck and Prince, extending S6 finale’s storyline during which Chuck uncovered Prince’s untaxed cryptocurrency, thereafter being arrested for his own misdoings.

Truly, this was a finale where we couldn’t figure out who the real “winner” was. After a nail biting first half, Chuck finally unlocks Prince’s mysterious hard drive and finds that it has data about his untaxed cryptocurrency amounting to $3.5 billion. But this move comes to bite him, as he’s arrested for acquiring the drives with a fake warrant.

There’s no telling where the story can go from here and that’s the beauty of Billions!

Billions S7 Cast

Paul Giamatti, Core Stoll, Maggie Siff, David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Condola Rashād, and Jeffrey DeMunn will return for Billions S7. The show’s other recurring characters are likely to reprise their roles as well.

So yes, most of the major players will be back in the game! As of yet, there have been no announcements about any new cast members joining in.

One question that’s always on fans’ minds is whether Damian Lewis will make his grand return as Axe. While the actor has stated that Axe has been vanquished, he was spotted last year on set with Giamatti, Siff, and Costabile. Was he simply visiting or do we have a surprise appearance in store? Only time will tell.

Does Billions have a spin-off?

Showtime has announced that Billions will have at least four spin-offs, as the main aim is to make this universe into a proper franchise. However, no more concrete details about these projects (like release date or cast) have been announced.

There you go! If you were craving more Billions-esque shows, Showtime is granting your wish. While details are scant at the moment, here’s something to nibble on for the upcoming spin-offs:

  • Millions, about up-and-coming thirty-year-old millionaires in Manhattan.
  • Trillions, a drama about the world’s richest titans.
  • Billions spin-off in Miami focusing on the private aviation industry and cryptocurrency.
  • Billions spin-off in London focusing on the UK’s high finance sector.

Stay tuned as we’ll keep you posted about these spin-offs!
