Billions Season 6 Episode 4 Recap
Kate tells Rhoades about her meeting with Prince. Rhoades immediately suspects it’s for a job and tells her to report back to him with whatever intel she cant get. Meanwhile, Prince pitches his plans for the Olympic games to the Governor in order to get his support for the venture. The Governor tells him it’ll be difficult for him to give his full support because Rhoades already changed the narrative by his demonstration and they’ll have to start with a defensive position from the jump.
He tells Prince that public opinion on the venture is extremely negative at the moment and he’ll only extend his support to him once he figures out a solution for this. Prince realizes that he needs exceptional legal counsel to get him out of this ‘municipal swamp’ and his best bet is to hire from inside the government. He goes to Wendy to get her take on this and she names Kate as their best option but has her own apprehensions of bringing her onboard.
Kate has bigger aspirations of her own and tells Rhoades that she needs him to get her bigger cases and to start assembling donors for when she inevitably runs for office. She tells Rhoades about the free Wi-Fi initiative Prince is planning to roll out. However, Prince gives her an even better offer and rents a campaign office for her, and assures her that he is willing to invest in her future. Kate takes up the job offer at Prince Capital and Rhoades ends up losing his long-time mentee.
