Big Hero 6: The Series is all set to be made into a manga! The wait is finally over. Your favorite characters and the wholesome healthcare robot are finally being made into a cool manga!

I know how the previous comic adaptation was disappointing, but I assure you that this one won’t.

Yen Press’s editor-in-chief, JuYoun Lee revealed in an ICv2 interview that the animated Disney show Big Hero 6: The Series will be made into a manga.

The manga will be written by JuYoun herself, and the artwork will be done by Hong Gyun An.

The manga will be available in comic book stores from August 4th and in other bookstores from August 17th.

The series is a spin-off based on the 2014 hit film of the same name, which showed us the origin of Baymax and how Hiro got into fighting crime along with his brother Tadashi’s friends.

An illustration was also revealed along with the news. It shows us Hiro, Baymax, and their crime-fighting team all in their hero gear.

JuYoun told ICv2 that Hong Gyun An is a graduate from the School of Visual Arts and is quite talented at drawing facial expressions and fighting scenes which are crucial while making a lighthearted action-comedy.

A comic book was planned and announced by IDW Publishing for the 2017 spin-off series but couldn’t get through due to conflicts among the editorial body and the writer.

However, three issues were rewritten and published from November 2019 till October 2020.

The movie is originally based on a Japanese Marvel comic of the same name as well. It seems a little funny to adapt a comic into a movie and then make a comic out of it again.

I am really excited to see the most wholesome crime-fighting robot in a manga style, and you should be too!

Now, on a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your excitement?
