New Trailer for Better Call Saul Season 6 Ominously Hints at a Happy Ending

AMC has unveiled a new trailer for Season 6 of Better Call Saul, teasing a happy ending. The show serves as a prequel to the mega-hit Breaking Bad and follows the origin story of Bob Odenkirk’s eponymous lawyer.

The show follows the slow shift of Jimmy McGill from an honest court-appointed lawyer to a dishonest criminal defense attorneySaul Goodman—who we first meet in Breaking Bad Season 2.

Better Call Saul

The relationship between Jimmy and his close friend Kim Wexler is the soul of Better Call Saul. In an attempt to bring ruin to a fellow attorney, Howard Hamlin, the two have descended into taking an increasingly dark and irredeemable course of action, consequently leading to an unintended deadly mid-season finale.

Now, a day after an explosive mid-season finale, AMC has released a trailer for the show, hinting at a happy ending.

The trailer opens with a black-and-white shot of Jimmy and Kim’s apartment, probably pointing at the events which unfolded in the tragic mid-season finale. While Jimmy’s voiceover refers to “a happy ending”, the tone of the trailer is rather ominous.

Although the context of the line is still unclear, it is safe to bet that it could be a deceptive ploy rather than a hint at what’s to come. The writers of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul aren’t exactly known for happy endings—they might go for bittersweet arc conclusions instead.

Fans would have to wait till the finale to watch the conclusion of this epic for themselves.

Better Call Saul returns to AMC on July 11.
