Better Call Saul Lead Actor Bob Odenkirk Joins The Bear S2 Cast

After wrapping up the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk said his last goodbye to Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman. Odenkirk played the role of the criminal lawyer who was on friendly terms with the cartel for a total of 13 years while Breaking Bad and its spinoff continued.

But the actor is now branching out with different TV shows, and we’re here to tell you about his most recent casting. Right after Better Call Saul’s last season, Odenkirk starred in AMC’s Lucky Hank, where he plays Hank Deveraux, a college professor teetering between a midlife crisis and a meltdown.

Now, according to Variety, the Breaking Bad actor has joined the cast of FX’s critically acclaimed TV series The Bear. While his character and his role in the show are being kept under wraps, Variety has confirmed Odenkirk’s guest appearance on the dramedy.

The Bear follows a gifted Chicago chef after he moves to the sticks to run his brother’s sandwich shop who committed suicide. The show was renewed for a second season three weeks after the series premiere. The first season was met with generally positive reviews, praising the actors’ performances and the intense plot.

Odenkirk’s addition to the already stellar cast might give the following season the push it needs to outdo the first. After all, the first season drew some attention from prestigious award nominations, with Jeremy Allen White, who plays the protagonist, walking away with a Golden Globe.

With the Better Call Saul actor on board, the show can count on a few more awards next season, even if he is there just for a guest role.
